Meh. I'm not impressed. I *always* get the carnitas burrito at Chipotle. ;) (not that you would know that, hence the ;) )

I also had a Dos Equis. With lemon, as they seemed to be out of lime wedges (altho danlo got one in his margarita so they musta had a cache of 'em *some*where...).

We have had a successful mission. We found the distilled chicken in a liquor store in chinatown. When I pointed at it the guy behind the counter asked if I was sure which one because there are two varieties that come in identical boxes. He then asked me what my friend was planning to do with it so he could help determine which one to sell me. When I replied that he intended to drink it the guy looked shocked and repeated drink it with a sort of horrified and confused look on his face and tone in his voice. I should have asked him what you are supposed to do with the distilled chicken but didn't think of it at the time. We do however know that drinking it is NOT the normal way to consume distilled chicken. Anyway, the two boxes had different stickers with different chinese names so we were able to figure out which one was the same as what we had at Cags. Apparently the difference is that one has chinese herbs in it and the other doesn't. The kind we were drinking had chinese herbs in it. According to Cov's research, the one with the herbs is the kind that causes death after repetitive consumption. Whoo hoody.

It's always reassuring when the shop owner is horrified at the prospect of what you intend to do with the product. He looked like he was about to call the police.

Me too...

Perhaps it's meant to be a marinade/tenderizer for chicken?

In any case, I still liked it straight as a shot.

Or a marinade for Marmite? Hong Kong used to be a British colony, after all....

I think you're supposed to use it to kill chickens. My theory is that you feed the chicken an eye-dropper full of it. When the stuff touches the chicken's tongue its feathers fall off, and as soon as the chicken swallows its head explodes. ;)

I couldn't find a reference to death anywhere, but apparently the herb is acanthopanax, previously known in the US as Siberian Ginseng. It's Latin name is Eleutherococcus senticosus (formerly acanthopanax senticosus), and there is a wiki article about it here, for anyone interested. It looks like a shot a day, like a glass of wine a day, could be medically beneficial.

It was actually requested in an episode of Firefly, according to my research.

Oh, I don't doubt that in the slightest, as I am innately lazy.
