Me too! Or something, anyway.

Good call on Elosha, too. We have yet to learn the truth of the opera house, or the significance of the shared vision. I am also going to say that the prophecy has not been fulfilled. I can't remember the exact wording, but IIRC it did not mention Earth directly, but referred rather vaguely to a 'new home'. Obviously the journey is not over, and I think it is quite possible that they will end up heading back to the colonies.

The colonies have been heavily nuked, if they are going to leave Earth which was nuked a long time ago, they certainly won't head back to the colonies which are freshly nuked, I think heading back to Kobol is their best bet.

They can also start the "all this has happened before" cycle again, birth place of a new human race etc.

Nice Admiral Cain avatar BTW. :D

Kobol is an excellent theory. Makes sense especially since that is where the Opera House is.

I would say that from what we saw of the colonies they were in better shape than Earth, and had people living on them for a surprisingly long time without problems. Which doesn't really make sense. I think they did go into that a bit with Sharon and Helo, but did they explain Anders and his whole group? (They might have, it's been a long time since I watched those episodes). I do think that they will return, but maybe not before the end of the series. Thinking on it, it would be a bit disappointing if they turned around and went back where they had come from.

It's been said that these people have developed medicine to the point that radiation poisoning is not an issue. (By having this technology it should imply that their medicine is more advanced than we have seen it... cancer shouldnt be a problem for example but meh :))

Thats the main reason humans were able to survive on Caprica. How all the wildlife held up so well is another question. I also think the Cylons only nuked the population centers. Somewhat more tactical yield nukes than the kind we have now, which could basically incinerate an entire country. (No Joke, the yields on our thermonukes are disgusting)

Maybe their great great great grandchildren will start to journey back to the colonies? The worlds the old folks are always babbling on about.

Holy frack! Just caught up - watched all ten episodes on Amazon Unbox. What a season! Before I'd rate episodes as good or okay or ... eh. But each one of these was just jaw-dropping. WOW!

I don't think this is Earth. They didn't show enough of it from orbit to recognize any land masses. And the prophecies say that the leader who is dying will lead her people to Earth but will not live to see them reach it. So I think this may have been the original Earth that the 13th tribe set out to settle, but apparently something happened and they had to move on.

So - guesses for the final cylon? I think it's either Laura or Baltar or Bill. It was said that the final five were all in the fleet. Then Deana said that only four of the five were with the fleet. Why the change? It's becasue she already had the fifth with her on the base ship. And those three are the only significant ones that were in that group of hostages. I really think it could be Adama - Leoban did tell Laura that one time that "Adama is a cylon." And this was right after Adama told Starbuck that Leoban won't lie - he'll just twist the truth.

And from IMDB it looks like we have to wait until January 09? Frack it all!! *sigh*
And then the ravens pecked out his eyes.

Dude! It's about time you're catching up! I was afraid from talking to you in SF that you had given up on BSG altogether.

Romeo!

I don't trust Leoben. He was far from truthful with Starbuck on New Caprica. He gets a thrill out of frakking with people, and I have not seen anything to suggest that he has any special knowledge.

The Hybrid said: "And the fifth, still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering."
Doesn't fit Adama or Roslin. Could apply to Baltar. I don't think it's Baltar.

Interesting theory. The prophecy has not been fulfilled. Hmm...

Yeah, it is an interesting theory, Romeo. I'll be pretty pissed if that's what happened, though. "Hey, let's tell the audience they found Earth, then go on a break for months. And when we come back, 'Psych! It's not really Earth! But you shoulda seen the look on your faces!'"

So who is most in need of redemption...

Baltar is. But redemption can mean a lot, and mean many things. what an awesome series.

I think Baltar is beyond redemption. He's never wanted anything other than what's best for himself. So how can a desire for redemption on his part be anything other than that? I think Foul has a better chance at redemption than Baltar. :-)
And then the ravens pecked out his eyes.

Finally, I am venturing into the series.
Season 1, disc 1 is in my hot little hands.
But, the original thread is locked...

Where will it be best to comment on what I see? And hopefully get feedback from Watcher fans of the show, so if I hit any poor episodes I am encouraged to muddle through?

Also, will someone link my to the viewing guide that incorporates the mini-series and movies in proper order? Please?

Post here, Menolly.

Don't know about a link, but watch the mini-series first, then seasons 1 - 4. Doesn't really matter when you watch Razor, so long as you don't watch it before the end of Season 2.

Welcome, Menolly!

Must remember to use spoiler tags next time I go off on a tangent.

Don't worry about spoiler tags, Sorus.

I've been following these threads ever since I attempted to take on the character of Tory Foster for a short time without ever having seen the show... ;)

I don't mind spoilers much. Once I see how they are handled, I have a "so that's what they were talking about" revelation reaction, and don't mind not being as surprised as intended.

Ah - in that case, have fun putting everything into context.

Just a little fun here on the Watch between Lore, Montresor, EL, and me for a short time.
