I agree completely. However, for me, Pertwee is the most classy.

Aye, indeed we do. For me Eccleston's doctor had the atmosphere of the 'working class boy come good' (which was great), but Tennant is a little like an eccentric scientist run amok.

Anyway, I agree that Pertwee was the 'classiest'. He was an odd combination of the most 'robust' and masculine doctor, and the most 'dandified'. He was great.

I have watched most of Season Three.

Fantastic . . . simply fantastic. I retract my criticisms of the modern show.

I feel so bad.

Don't.

It takes a brave and humbled person to admit they were mistaken.
I, for one, am proud of you.

So, have we found out just who this Doctor is? I mean, we can't just keep calling him Dr. Who forever; it's beginning to come off like a bad parody of that Abbott & Costello gag. Of course, it would be a better parody if there was a Dr. What, a Dr. I Don't Know Who, A Dr. Because.....

I suppose we should start the inevitable DR. WHEN thread.

Aside from a few injokes in the '60s era of the show, the character has never actually been called Doctor Who. He's called The Doctor. For me, that's fine. If they revealed his name, that would be rather anti-climactical, I think. He occassionally adopts the pseudonym of John Smith.

The way BBCA is showing the episodes is really beginning to piss me off. #1 The slow way that the episodes trickle out. #2. Several times a new episode has been promised, but when I watch it I realize that I saw it months ago when Dr. Who was being shown on the Sci-fi network, or even previously on BBCA. #3. I think that several times 2 part episodes have not been continued the next week.

A new member to the Watch posted in General Fantasy/SciFi about a recent episode of Torchwood that apparently makes use of The Land's Words of Power, with a totally inappropriate translation given. I'm unsure how many here also go into that forum, so I figured I would cross-post.

I wish I had cable.

Anyone have the patience to teach me how to find episodes online? Now that I'm finally on DSL...

Apparently Begbie (Robert Carlyle) either is or was in negotiations to be the next Doctor?

That's been floating around - but so have many similar rumours. Tennant is staying for this season and probably the next, he's in the next Xmas special, after all.
