I drove Magickmaker to and from work yesterday, and to work today (I had book club this afternoon so could not pick her up). This was opening weekend for her store. As we were approaching the shopping center yesterday morning, we noticed these huge balloons tethered to something in the shopping center. I said, "Are those for your store?" Then we turned into the parking lot. Sure enough, the balloons were indeed for her store -- and they had put up another, rainbow-striped balloon that said "Grand Opening" and festooned the parking lot with strings of pennants. I meant to bring the camera back there to take a picture, but I forgot. Oh well. It was pretty impressive, tho.

My weekend plans are breakfast and a matinee with Lucimay and Sorus on Saturday and then brunch with Julie and crew on Sunday. I hope to drag Lucimay to brunch too and then we can do our usual laundry later.

My weekend plans are to spend some time with Carla and her ex-girlfriend. Her ex is really very nice, and I'm looking forward to it.

Didn't David Crosby write a song about that? 8O

I need a movie really badly but I'm so behind on NetFlix and I don't want to ever enter Hollywood Video ever again. Not doing much, hopefully having a barbeque on my b-day Sunday.

The highlight for my weekend is a surprise birthday party for a friend on Sunday. I may also try to see Dark Knight this weekend, probably at a matinee tomorrow.

Moving into the new house at last. It'll be a relief. On the other hand, there's no net connection there. Booooo.

I still can't believe there are houses in England without phone lines even. That boggles the mind. 8O

Oops...have I just outed Carla on the forums? I thought I already had, but I guess many of you didn't know her then, so it probably didn't sink in.

Thanks guys. Survived the storm pretty much unscathed but it seems quite a lot of people didn't with mostly flooding and power lines going down. Apparently there's supposed to be another one on wednesday and hopefully this rain will eventually stop. i am so over it :)

I'm glad you're all right, Vain. I've always been fascinated by storms. Not quite as much as some friends of mine who went down to Florida once a few years ago knowing a hurricane was on the way to where they were staying, but I do like to watch them.

It turned out to be a cat 2, I think. I want to say this was 3 years ago. They were in Cape Coral.
