I am exhausted. I woke up at 4:45am to drive at 6am to take tests that each started an hour late. I finished the tests an hour early, but then I spent an extra hour lost in traffic due to construction and no detours, and didn't get home until 2pm. Then I helped my dad figure out the new bike rack for the van for our big biking/camping trip that starts tomorrow. I still have about 40 things to do before tomorrow, and I don't feel like doing any of them. We have a four-hour car ride tomorrow, which will probably make me more tired. But I think that starting Monday I will be having two weeks of fantastic fun. I hope. :)

Will you be AFK during most, or all, of the trip, Auleliel?

...sorry...

Away from keyboard.
i.e., without internet access.

Will you be away from the Watch for the next two weeks?

Yes, I will not have internet access at the campgrounds, and will be away from KW for probably two weeks. I'll miss you all.

Thanks for the translation, Menolly. I'm not good with acronyms.

Then, I wish you a fantastic time.
You will be missed, and I look forward to hearing details on your return.

How do you feel the tests went?
I bet you're glad they're done.

I am very glad they're done. I took two 2-hour tests. I finished the first one 30 minutes early, and the second one an hour early, so I think I did pretty well on them, or at least passed them. I guessed on several of the questions, but most of those I was able to do educated guesses. I only need to pass them, so it should be fine. I find out the results in a month.

Thank you. I'm sure I'll have some interesting stories when I get back. Two weeks camping with six other people usually brings about an adventure or three...

I sympathize with you MsMary, yet i am drawn to the question, Would an intelligent Cold have enough sense to leave voluntarily.? Perhaps that so few have ever been recognized suggests that indeed, they do. May your cold pursue further education.

You're a riot, lurch.

Unfortunately, I was hoping to feel much better for my test tomorrow than I am feeling today. :( :-x

Here's hoping an early bedtime and a good breakfast will get me through. Test is two 3-hr sessions, with an hour lunch break (actually an hour and a half between tests, but they expect us back after an hour to register for the afternoon portion).

After which I can collapse and play computer games and forum post to my heart's content - for a couple days anyway. ;)

I had a very good day. I got up this morning to go to brunch with Julie and Mike and a few friends and it turned into a fifteen person gathering in which we took over half the restaurant and re-arranged the furniture ourselves. It was fun. Then I came home and did laundry. Lucimay didn't need to do hers yet so I flew solo and hung out in our fave cafe and drank iced tea and read "A Game of Thrones" and then met up with Lucimay and we went to the grocery and to the hardware store. I finally managed to remember to get sink traps for my kitchen after many months of living here. Then I did some cleaning, put away laundry and loved on my puppy and went for a long walk with him and then came home to do some more chores. Now I am done with more than I planned to and am popping in before I sink myself back into my book.

SoS has some itchy bumps which look kinda chicken pox ish. It's going around town at the moment. BRILLIANT I say. :P I'm keeping my fingers crossed he's just been bitten by some bug...as I haven't had chicken pox and ...seriously...I'm NOT in the mood to have it this month (or next month!!!) :P :P :P

Having had chicken pox when I was about SoS's age, I'd say it was a good thing. Get it out of the way now. But if you haven't had it; not so good.

It should be a good day. I'm taking the late afternoon off to go up to the Cubs-Brewers game in Milwaukee on a bus trip this afternoon. Sabathia's pitching, so it'll be interesting to see if the Cubs bats can get to him.

Today I feel isolated. Well, the last couple of days really. I've moved into my new place of residence, but at the moment I'm the only one there. That does mean I get plenty of peace, but it also means the house is eerily quiet (except for the unsettling late-night knocks and rattles that come with living in a terraced house). Since I also have no internet access, I'm basically away from all other living creatures, except when I go to buy food. Today I ventured out to the university science library for net use (as you can see) but it's very inconvenient compared to sitting on my bed with a cup of tea.

Well, considering I have been up since five I guess I feel ok. I woke up from weird dreams, not bad, just odd and then the road noise has kept me from getting back to sleep. There have been about five ambulances in the last hour. Ugh.

I'm sure you will do fine on your test Ms. Mary.

Cov, sorry about the isolation, that sucks. I'm telling you, break down and shell out the money to have the house wired for internet. Or launch a campaign to get the roomies to pitch in. When divided over the time you will be living there it will probably be worth it.

Sea... gah.... chickenpox. Ugh. Go stock up on calamine lotion and oatmeal bath packs. Also neosporin with pain reliever. If you get any on your face or SOS does then numb them with that. Otherwise if you scratch them they will scar for life.
