I ran into this fellow yesterday in Stormwind riding Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer:

Is that something that Gnomes can make? I've never seen a reindeer in WoW.

LOL! That's awesome. Definitely doesn't look that from my end.

Damelon--There's an item related to (I think) the Christmas holiday event that you can use to transform your mount into a reindeer. Even works on flying mounts. I've only seen one or two of them around.

Yep. I have some in the bank, and I recently saw some in the AH. Took some cool group pics, but I don't think I have them on my drive...

Halaa was under attack when I went to Nagrand for the daily. Went over to see if it was worth defending, wound up joining a big group which proceeded to 1) kill a group who stood around near flag for ages before flagging (while I was out flying, so I missed it, it was over quick :(), 2) wait around for more to happen, 3) get bored and disband, 4) lose Halaa to massive group of Horde that attacked as soon as the group broke up, 5) reform and 6) capture Halaa back after a lot of dying and eventually settling into defense of one wyvern point.
Got myself 31 Battle Tokens. Forgot to pick up the daily, though.

I am not happy:

Image

:(

Edit: Maybe not as bad as thought. Palles are getting a channeled mana-restore similar to that of mages, which'll reduce drinking time, and MP5 is (I hear) no longer MP5 but happens constantly, and at an increased rate. Might be they're working hard to make chain-chugging pots no longer necessary.

By the way, this is because of the new beta patch today--lots of changes to things. You can see the stuff here.

Another one of the special profession-related skills has been added: Alchemists get an increased effect when they drink potions they can make.

Voidwalker: Health increased by 20%, Damage increased by 16%. The amount of attack power the Voidwalker gains from it's master's spell damage has been increased by 45%.
...this makes me a happy warlock.
You can now buy Signet of the Kirin Tor and Band of the Kirin Tor for a very reasonable price in Dalaran.
Umm... they're 7,600 gold each. Guessing the 'reasonable price' part was a joke, but I do wonder how drastically the economy will change.

There's also this, coming up in next patch:
Also just boosted the imp's mana regen around 200%, health by 20%, armor by 16% and gave it 80% avoidance (dmg reduction) to AOE's. So he's just about ready to do some business.
(From this collation of "blue" posts.)

Yeah, 7600g is a lot. Wonder how much "Cold-Weather Flying" is going to cost? (Interesting fact: You can buy that even if you only have a "normal" flying mount; new mounts, like the Death Knight skeletal gryphon, have speed that scales based on your riding skill.)

By the way, while I was looking for the pic of the skeletal gryphon I stumbled on this new post about even more new mounts:

The bears and mammoths are pretty cool - dunno about the skeletal gryphon. :?

Nice new bows, too. 8O

I posted to our OTHER message Board! [Should we take our chat there?]

I wonder if Vain can move THIS thread! That would make it easier!

I need to start posting there.

Sorry.

I have directed a couple of people there recently, but it doesn't look like they registered... Lot of Erikson fans on the server, though.

I gather they're introducing a lot of new and very expensive items in order to take as much gold as they can out of the economy before the expansion. Blizzard have finally cottoned on to the idea that if they limit what gold is used for (i.e. trade materials, green and blue gear, repairs, food etc) then the problem of gold sellers/account hackers pretty much solves itself. Expect to see most things at level 80 to be bought with bind-on-pickup items like Badges of Justice.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll get to be there. I've not been able to log into the game since the last patch and it knocks my internet connection down in the process. It doesn't appear to be a problem with my ISP, as Age of Conan is working fine so I'm going to move over to that instead.

Server shut down for maintenance when the last mob I needed to kill for a quest was at 20% health. And I'd spent the last five minutes of the countdown running around trying to find one of them to kill. Damnit.

Did everyone else get this email about the recruit-a-friend program?
Our new Recruit-A-Friend program has added features that reward you even more for bringing your friends into Azeroth™. Recruit-A-Friend and earn:

* An exclusive ZHEVRA in-game mount* when your friend pays for 60 days of subscription time.
* 30 Days of FREE** WoW gametime when your friend pays for 30 days of subscription time.

Also, from the moment your friend creates a character and starts adventuring with you (including the trial period), both of you will receive these additional in-game benefits:

* You and your friend will earn triple the experience when grouped together.
* For every two levels of experience your friend earns, they can grant one level of experience to any one of your characters of lower level.

* You and your friend will have the ability to summon each other from any point in the world.

For more details on the new Recruit-A-Friend program please click here.
Tell me that isn't just going a bit too far. They're now giving away free experience. Get your friend to level two characters, and there's your alt up to 70 with no effort needed on your part.

I got that too, but it specifies that your character must be of lower level.

Yeah. If they level two characters to 70, they can boost your alt 35 levels per character if it started from level 1. It's clearly designed so both players wil have characters that level up evenly, but there are so many ways to exploit it...

In other news.
I finally got my weapon enchant done. One of the problems I've had with that stuff is I'm uncomfortable about whether I should tip or how much, so I jsut watch for the ones that say "free with your mats" and take them at their word. Immediately after I got Major Spellpower on my weapon, the enchanter changed her macro to say "tips welcome"....
