There's a difference between forgetting bad things you've done and not dwelling on them. Thinking that past mistakes are supposed to prevent happiness more than very, very rarely is wrong thinking. Learn from past mistakes; use them to measure current and future behavior; and, as the man said, move the **** on.

Thank you, Fist.

You're much more succinct than I am.

Hmmm...my being and my meaning are the same.

I am happy in my being by seeing the meaning in my being. I like seeing how things have come together, and occasionally get a little excitement just pondering about where things may be going in my being.

So do I live for being, for meaning, I'm not sure which answer best applies....

Listen.

I'm trying to have an existential crisis driven by guilt and angst which will lead to a moment of catharsis in which I shall finally make pennance for my sins.

You can't short circuit this thing.

Oh, thank you for increasing my guilt at thwarting your attempts to help me. I shall surely reach crisis soon.

...

And before anyone asks, no, I can't tell if I'm using sarcasm anymore, either.

I know my life is a parody of Ironic Satire. I'm not not sure what Ironic Satire it's parodying.

I was thinking exactly the same thing and then I happened upon your post.

Wow...I don't know if I'm searching for meaning or not, but I can honestly, and sadly, say that I am not happy right now. I'm on the road toward it again, and things are moving along (especially financially) that will get me there. I just want a happier work environment. Whether that means leaving this place or others leaving this place, I don't know, but the pay is what I want as is the commute time. But I believe the soul destroying search will begin again soon now that bankrupcy is nearly over and out.

I want a "both" option, too. I've always thought the point of life was to learn and grow...
