I was talking to Jenn about show tunes performed at funerals and this one just stuck-

Oh yes I’ve got a lot o' living to do
A whole lot o' loving to do
Come on baby, to make a party takes two
Oh yes I’ve got a lot o' living to do
A whole lot o' loving to do
And there's no one who I'd rather do it with-a than you

There's a moon that's big and bright in the milky way tonight
But the way you act you never would know it's there
So baby, time's a wasting
A lot of kisses I ain't been tasting
I don't know about you but I’m gonna get my share

Oh got a lot o' living to do
A whole lot o' loving to do
Come on baby, to make a party takes two
Oh yes I’ve got a lot o' living to do
A whole lot o' loving to do
And there's no one who I'd rather do it with-a than you

There's a balmy little breeze
That's whistling through the trees
And it's telling you to pitch a little woo with me
Why don't you take a listen
You'll never know what you've been missing
Cuddle up a little closer and be my little honey bee

Oh got a lot o' living to do
A whole lot o' loving to do
Come on baby, to make a party takes two
Oh yes I’ve got a lot o' living to do
A whole lot o' loving to do
And there's no one who I'd rather do it with-a than you

You're the prettiest thing I’ve seen
But you treat me so doggone mean
Ain't you got no heart, I’m dying to hold you near
Why do you keep me waiting
Why don't you start co-operating
And the things I say are things you want to hear

Oh got a lot o' living to do
A whole lot o' loving to do
Come on baby, to make a party takes two
Oh yes I’ve got a lot o' living to do
A whole lot o' loving to do
And there's no one who I'd rather do it with-a than you

The King is gone but he's not forgotten
is this the story of Johnny Rotten?
:P

Listen my darling, now, don't play with fire
You find a way to balance faith and desire

It's almost the deadline
Don't miss the deadline darling
Consequences are easily misconstrued

Don't miss the deadline
It's almost the deadline, darling
I couldn't live if it happened to you

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing
Is there no world for tomorrow, if we wait for today?

Edge,

Paper Lace circa 1974'ish I believe. Ugh. Your new artwork site on the other hand ... very impressive. I will undoubtedly be getting my new desktop there. Thanks & very nice work!

Andy: Quite right, Paper Lace it is. And yeah, sometime in the '70s.

Glad you like the site! :D

Today, I've got Foreigner on loop.....

It feels like the first time
It feels like the very first time.....

Over and over and over....
:D Isn't that somehow ironic?

I AM IRON MAN
Has he lost his mind
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall

Is he live or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
We'll just pass him there
Why should we even care?

He was turned to steel
In the great magnetic field
When he traveled time
For the future of mankind

Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
Planning his vengeance
That he will soon unfold

Now the time is here
For Iron Man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved

Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge

Heavy boots of lead
Fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron Man lives again!

The worst thing for me is a song being stuck but I don't know all the words. There's no resolution!! 8O

The worst thing for me is that the songs in my aging memory tend to crackle, hiss, pop and sometimes skip. Curse you analog technology!

I have this song stuck in my head.

I have "A Place of My Own" from Heidi (1968) stuck in my head, and after over an hour on Google I still can't find the words. I hate it when I have songs from older movies stuck in my head because the lyrics never exist online, and the songs just keep playing over and over and over again with the wrong words and lots of gaps until I can force some other song to take over.

I don't remember Heidi having any songs. But, I haven't seen it literally in years.

Do you know any of the lyrics at all? For some reason, your title triggered In my own little corner from Rogers' and Hammerstein's Cinderella to start running through mine...

"When I am .......... for dreams to come true,
All of my wishes are small ones..."
It's the only song in the movie.

I found the lyricist's webite, Rod McKuen ~ A Safe Place to Land, and sent him an email asking him where the lyrics to "A Place of My Own" may be found. He answers emails on his site usually on Mondays and Tuesdays. Should he choose to reply, I'll post a link.
