Hmm. . I don't drink energy drinks all that often, but I drink my fair share of caffeine. I wish I could entirely cut out the soda (and caffeine) but it's such a habit now. It's especially bad since I spend a lot of time driving from place to place, and when I need something to drink I don't like to pay $1.40 for a 16oz bottle of tap water.

Agreed but for some reason I feel better paying that amount for a diet soda that is tantamount to tap water with bubbles and some (probably not-so-good-for-you) artificial flavoring.

Leave out the sweetener and artificial coloring and drink sodium-free seltzer if you want bubbles. That, and home made chocolate egg creams (made with u-Betts only) are the only carbonated beverages I drink at all anymore.

Yummy...

Good call! In all seriousness that is a great way to go. I'll have a diet soda at work sometimes but I actually drink no soda at home these days. There are various lines of clear zero-calorie flavored seltzers that really taste great. I always have several flavors on hand!

Even those have some artificial colors, flavors, and sweetners though. It's better than diet sodas, but I really mean non-flavored seltzer.

Being the child of two born and raised Brooklyn Jews, having gas injecting canisters of seltzer water delivered to our home was a weekly occurrence as I was growing up. So, I like plain seltzer. I get it on ice with a slice of lime at restaurants instead of a glass of water when I can.

Oh, I agree. I am just making baby steps but I may get there (in fact maybe just plain water someday.)

Having always played sports and/or exercised I have always liked Gatorade. However, at age 47 the sugar content is getting a bit much. My favorite is lime Gatorade Rain.

I have enjoyed the taste of Bing, but I don't tend to drink it. I guess I've always been a Mt. Dew fan and always will be.

Wow, I had to google that one. Looks like a local Colorado product (with a smidge of support in Texas.) Love cherry flavored stuff though.

Hard to argue with that (although at 47 I go with the diet version...)

Anyone remember Jolt Cola?

Jolt - all the sugar, and twice the caffeine. Problem was, it tasted like caramelized goat sphincter - or so I imagine.

Spot on! You gotta love truth in advertising,

I can neither confirm nor deny this. I have had Jolt. However, despite owning two Nigerian dwarf goats I have never even gotten carmel anywhere near their hind quarters nor would I ingest the results even if I did. (Reminds me of the old Reese PB Cup commercials: "You got chocolate in my peanut butter...") 8O

The same thing that used to give me the idea it would be safe to let young kids play in the kitchen.

I'm hooked on that Rock STar Mocha stuff. That crap is sooooo good. It's awesome in the summer since it's chilled. But pretty soon winter will be upon us and I'll get back to my regular cup o' joe.

I went through a lot of Red Bull when I was working 17-hour days. Can't say I was drinking it for the flavor, though it was better than any of the other energy drinks I tried.

They were all rather nasty, though none as nasty as those little 'energy shots'. They are bottles of unpronounceable chemicals, but you'd think that by the 21st century they could make them taste artificially good... instead, they taste like varnish-berry paint thinner.
