Harbinger, from what I remember Die Another Day was my fav of the Brosnan flicks, for that very reason.

I liked the Dalton ones better than most of the Moore's - (Though The Spy Who Loved Me was a lot of fun...)

Cail, I'll make a deal with you: watch Casino Royale, and I'll watch the Dalton movies.

Really, we should have a "Watch Movie Dissection." All of us watch the same movie one weekend out of the month, and then tear it apart--I mean give our thoughts. :) I see North By Northwest is a popular choice here. Haven't seen that one, either.

From what I understand, if you like the Craig Bond, you'll like the Dalton Bond. I really have been meaning to watch CR, I just keep getting sidetracked.

Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday is one of my favorite all time characters; Tombstone is an awesome movie.

Dalton was great as Bond. Moore and Connery have always been my favourites, if only because most of my favourite Bond films come from their era. Brosnan was good, but his films were too much like Bond parodies. Lazenby was decent, but his one film was tedious. Had Dalton done just one more film, I think he would have been my favourite Bond. Easily the coldest of all the Bonds.

Craig was very good, but it's early days yet. Though Craig also does the 'cold' Bond, it doesn't work as well for me as Dalton, if only because Dalton looks like the kind of man who might drown you in your bath, whereas Craig looks like he'd sooner have a pint with you down at the local.

Goldeneye was written for Dalton, then retooled after the lawsuit was settled and Dalton passed on it. Had Dalton starred in Goldeneye, it would have handily been The Best Bond Film Ever.

They're both very '80s, but Dalton's portrayal of Bond is spot-on.

Prior to Craig, Dalton was my favorite Bond hands down, and "The Living Daylights" my favorite Bond movie.

Malik's idea of a "Dissecting Movie" thread would be alot of fun! I might flame the thread if someone besmirches "Last of the Mohicans" again. Fair warning.

Cail, I'm glad to see you've upped your opinion of "Rocky." It's not that I disagree with your statements here about Stallone's Rambo - I think John Rambo is a fantastic character. But so is Rocky. I thought "Rocky Balboa" was a very worthy end to the series, so long as the series only includes Rocky I, II and RB. Take III, IV and V and throw them in the wood chppper.

Danlo, "Taxi Driver" is completely overrated, and I couldn't get through "Raging Bull."

DLB, I was trying to be funny about my movie hate list. I'd give LotM another try. I saw it young, and my tastes have changed quite a bit. But remember, nothing brings out your passion for something you love like someone else putting it down. :P

I hadn't seen Rocky in a long while. I was shocked at (I can't believe I'm about to say this) the depth that Stallone put into the character, both as a writer and as an actor. It's easy to see why the film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards.

But if my language is offensive, I'll retract it.
Did you actually see the film  ?

It's not about transvestites and male-on-male sex at all - it's about aliens!

Iirc correctly the sexual encounters are alien+human male, alien+human female, monster creation+human female, alien+alien, human female+human female. There's probably a few more, but i'm nearly sure there isn't any human male+human male. And luckily, Meatloaf doesn't get his kit off at all.

probably one of my favourite sound tracks, and if you were to ever see the stage show, or even one of the cinema shows/stage helper things, I guarantee you'll have the time of your life. (*running over to the things you didn't know thread*)

Stonemaybe, you're joking, right? Please don't make me post pictures of Tim Curry in the stockings, high heels, make-up, etc. Did you miss his BJ scene? Yes, I know they are ostensibly "aliens." Aliens who just happen to look exactly like humans dressed in drag and having sex with dudes.

Nothing wrong with that if that's your thing. I don't want to start another gay argument. The first one was uncomfortable enough. But the fact that the actors are pretending to be aliens doesn't in any way disguise the fact that this plot device is merely an excuse to throw a bunch of gay imagery and gay themes at you. Some people like that. It's just not my cup of tea.

Thanks dlb!!! I feel much better now I always thought that I lowered my "macho meter" (if not fallen a bit towards being a RHPS fan  ) by not watching Raging Bull, I am sad, however, that my "pervert meter" didn't rise by not checking out Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver. :!!!:

Rocky Horror Picture Show. Heard about it, never saw it. Probably never will. Is it like this?

I rewatched Team America. It's coming off my list. I barely had a chuckle for it. This movie definitely didn't age well for me.

I find that I usually have that reaction to Matt & Trey's work. I thought Baseketball was absolutely hysterical the first time I watched it.

Not so much the second time around.

Same thing with South Park. If I watch no more than one or two episodes a month, I enjoy them. Any more than that and they become tiresome.

Thats true for about half the episode, but some really transcend.

Scott Tennerman Must Die will be funny *every* time.

So will Marjorine. (The episode where they fake Butters' death and bring him back as Marjorine so that they can steal a "future telling device" from the girls.)
