It must be night somewhere to somebody right now, even though it's my morning. Goodnight, whoever you are, wherever you are!

I'm mad. There was supposed to be a tinker scare tonight, so instead of going to bed early like I wanted to, I stayed up. So naturally, the scare didn't happen.

Going to bed now! Good night all!

I am glad Auleliel asked that question so that I wouldn't have to flaut my ignorance...

Haha, its ok, I knew that question would get asked. There's a tradition at my school, that some time during the fall, we have tinker day. The seniors let us know that its tinker day by coming through all the dorms on campus banging pots and pans and screaming. This happens at about 5am. We go to the dining hall for Krispy Kreme Donuts. Then everyone dresses up in funny costumes and climbs Tinker mountain(right next to campus). We get the day off classes, and they do skits and have fried chicken on top of the mountain.
In 'preparation' for tinker day, the seniors do tinker scares(coming through with pots and pans, screaming, etc.) on random nights, usually around midnight. Only the seniors are supposed to know when a tinker scare is going to happen.
One of my seniors told me on Wednesday that there was going to be a tinker scare at midnight last night, so even though I was feeling sick, I stayed up, rather than get woken up at midnight. They didn't come.
Batty told me this morning that the senior class president sent an email out that said if it was pouring down rain, they wouldn't do the tinker scare. She's been sick too, and didn't see the email til this morning, so I don't blame her. I just wish one of my other seniors had warned me.

In the great green room
There was a telephone
And a red balloon
And a picture of
The cow jumping over the moon

Goodnight room
Goodnight moon
Good night cow jumping over the moon
Goodnight light
And the red balloon
Goodnight bears
Goodnight chairs
Goodnight kittens
And goodnight mittens
Goodnight clocks
And goodnight socks
Goodnight little house
And goodnight mouse
Goodnight comb
And goodnight brush
Goodnight nobody
Goodnight mush
And goodnight to the old lady
whispering "hush"
Goodnight stars
Goodnight air
Goodnight noises everywhere

Aww. What a great book. (The author attended my daughters' college.) I like "The Runaway Bunny" too, altho it's a little creepy: wherever you go, whatever you do, *Mom will find you.*

She's out with Suzu getting medicine right now. I'm actually feeling a bit worse today, but its rainy too... I gave her several hugs yesterday, and she allowed it. I suspect though that it was because I'm a furnace, and she was cold.

Yes it is. I have never heard of the other one, though.
I believe there is a funny Simpson's scene with Christopher Walken reading Good Night Moon to a bunch of kids who are obviously terrified. He keeps telling them to come closer.

Looks cute. I will have to pick up a copy for my oldest step-daughter and her little boy. He is only ~1.5 years old so timing is good. Thanks!

I have Goodnight Moon in English, French, Spanish and Hebrew.

I have The Runaway Bunny, too, but only in English.

Just got a copy of The Runaway Bunny for the step-grandson over the weekend (as well as a new copy of Goodnight Moon.) Very cute...

Different author, but along with Good Night Moon, a favorite here was I'll Love You Forever. The book itself is awesome, as the illustrations get funnier throughout.

As in The Runaway Bunny, it has a sense of creepiness to it as well, as you see the lengths the mother goes to rock her son...

It is one of those books you either love or hate, apparently. It is a treasured one here.

My mom used to read "I'll love you forever" to my sisters and me all the time! We loved it. My mom would even sing the song parts to us. I'm almost crying just thinking about how beautiful it was.
