People who think the "No parking, Fire Lane" means personal parking spot for them.

People who park in the Handicapped spot (with an eligible vehicle), and just stroll or run in just fine, with no visible handicap (not even a limp or a tremor)

Some people have handicaps that are not visible to the eye, and it's important to keep that in mind when you see something like that.

Though I won't deny that sometimes people who shouldn't do use the handicapped spots.

In a similar vein, people who text while bicycling, on the wrong side of the road, and take up the whole biking lane or shoulder.

This summer there have been several bike accident deaths in my area. My dad commutes by bicycle (and bikes very safely). I am worried about all these inexperienced and unsafe bicyclists that could put him into danger as well.

Not to over-dramatize, but we had a very sad case in our city where a young girl and 4 friends were all killed when her vehicle crossed over into the oncoming lane at high speed and hit a truck. Cell phone records indicated she (the driver) was texting.

Wow, Andy. That's too bad.

It's not bad enough that people think they can talk on a cellphone and drive, and not be distracted. In what universe is it possible to *text* and drive? Think about it: even if you touch-type, you kind of need both thumbs -- what are they holding the steering wheel with, their knees?

Only if you were born before 1980 :P

Seriously though, it's not possible to divert that much attention and drive safely.

if your phone has a full QWERTY keyboard, you need both hands anyway. but if it just has the number pad, you can get away with just using one hand.

but you're right, you can't divert that much attention safely.

I very much agree with both statements. Even though they are responsible I get nervous when my step-daughters get behind the wheel. By the time my daughter gets her license too I will need medication. Good thing I am already bald. It will save me the effort of losing it all then.

I've seen a lot of near-misses by people talking on cellphones while driving.

I gave a lady some nice sign language when I was on my bike once. Pulled up next to her in the bike lane, glanced over and saw the cellphone. So I waved a little until she looked over, and made a fake phone with my hand against the side of my head. Gave her a big fake grin, and hung it up. she flipped me the bird. But then the light went, and she turned, and I laughed my ass off.
