First correct answer, and Aliantha is the judge this time, "wins" and gets to post the next question.

I'll pose a question:

List all the crewmembers (as many as possible) of Captain's Fancy (and their duties) at the time that Morn first embarks.

Good question robo!

I think a prerequiste 4 this game should b that all participants turn on the "always notify me of reply" function in their profiles--I know it can b a pain--but it might help speed up the game...

Well, given that Robo has volunteered the next "question," I propose we move on.

Whose got an answer?

Robo will be the judge on who provides the most complete list.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to leave you in the lurch.   Amy wins. Amy, you can ask a question, or let Robo go first, since he's already posted a question.

I have royally mucked this up -- sorry....

2 unknowns?

Post by robo »

O.K. This is what I got:

COMMAND
1. Nick Succorso
2. Mikka Vasacsk
3. Liete Corregio

SCAN
1. Carmel
2. Arkenhill
3. Allum

COMMUNICATIONS
1. Lind
2. Scorz
3. ?

TARG/WEAPONS
1. Malda Verone
2. Karster
3. Simper

HELM
1. ?
2. Ransum
3. Pastille

DATA
1. Orn Vorbuld
2. Sib Mackern
3. Alba Parmute

ENGINEERING

It's interesting that first helm is mentioned many times and even does

Edit: found Arkenhill early in book 3.

oh by the way .. just reminding you that this is the Gap Trivia page for dummies .. not geniuses  with mega-memories .. so go easy .. most of us here .. indeed and in fact .. actually are .. really .... dummies

except for Hearthcoal that is .. lol .. and a few other minor exceptions to the general rule:P

in fact .. and in point .. it will probably be Hearthcoal that will come by and correct my grammar .. in particular .. the plural of 'genius' thingo.. above ..

she is definitely no dummy! .. and really shouldn't be posting on this thread at all .. but we are all gladdened and appreciative of her presence and her grammatical correctness .. (GC)

NEW QUESTION

Post by Hearthcoal »

What is the name of the "planetoid hanging, a few million kilometers inside the borders of forbidden space--far enough inside to be absolutely off limits to any human ship, and yet far enough away from the outpost to be accessible to any human ship willing to risk the consequences...at least by reputation. the rock was a shipyard and a clearinghouse for pirates."

And for Bonus Points, what does the name mean?

No, not from memory. I just started rereading and whenever I came to a new character I jotted it down.

WE HAVE A WINNER !

Post by Hearthcoal »

Bingo! Thanatos Minor.

Now for the "bonus"** question: what does it mean?

(Yes, Thanatos was Holland's first death/thrash band, but that answer doesn't count.)

**Robo - you were the first one to post with the correct answer to my primary question, so the honor of the next question is yours. The "bonus" is just-for-fun fun.

and like my father always used to say .. 'a quick game's a good game' ..

not that it has universal application to all games mind you .. but as a general rule and all .. its not a bad saying ..
