But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Full of the heavens and time.

Liked it a lot. Especially when compared to the fiasco of the second season. The only real beef I have is the intensely sudden changes in most everyone's psyche. Especially Suresh. Seems a little far-fetched to me. But it's got to happen for the plot to move on, so it doesn't bother me too badly.

Uhh, there was one particular thing Mohinder did that made perfect sense to me.....though I personally would have had a Marvin Gaye record playing while I was doing it, were I he.

...or more like Vincent Price in "The Fly". (nuk nuk)
I like the idea that Sylar is getting more powers.
I like the villians.

The "Obsessed Scientist" is a lot older than the Fly. I thought of Greg Bear's, Blood Music, among others.dlbpharmd wrote:Anyone else getting a little tired at the derivative nature of this show? Could Mohinder's plight be any more like Jeff Goldblum's in "The Fly?"
Frankly, when you begin these kind of things it always feels derivative. But it's how they use the archetype that matters.
I do like how one piece of advice from scar-Peter cascades into disaster.
So, I guess saving the cheerleader wasn't so important, was it?

Same reason that Thomas Riker just had a goatee, I think. Or maybe he just thinks chicks dig scars.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

It probably there to help us distinguished between future and present Peter.dlbpharmd wrote:Anyone have any idea why future Peter has the scar? With his regenerative powers from Claire, he shouldn't look any different from present Peter.

Seems to me Future Peter's scar is an indication that something happens to him that his acquired healing factor was unable to repair. That should be cause for concern about a potential disastrous future not just a convenient way to distinguish one Peter from the other. IMHO.

I definately agree, The new season is much faster paced than the last one, not sure if I perfer it to the last ones yet.balon! wrote:Liked it a lot. I agree, but so far I'm not convinced that the creators of this show think that far ahead. I get the feeling they think if they prevent the future, they don't have to explain those details.aTOMiC wrote:Seems to me Future Peter's scar is an indication that something happens to him that his acquired healing factor was unable to repair. For instance, what happen to the Irish chick who got left in an unrealized future?

I get the feeling that Sylar/Gabriel is going through a "Donaldsonesque" transformation ala Angus Thermopyle. Once hated and despised for being a souless cold blooded killer we are now getting a dual dose of Sylar as both the kind of partner you'd like to have on your side (aside from the unnessary homicides of course) and the future Gabriel who seems more like a tragic character who was abandoned as a child to deal with a dark hunger and lethal power he had no control over and somewhat admired for dealing with his demons and forging a fairly normal life complete with a nice home and a young son.
THOOLAH - Nuff said.
