Spiders are cool, and so are the fireflies from Zangarmarsh, but I don't think I would want one as a full-time pet.

I'm going after the Fishing in Orgrimmar achievement tomorrow morning. Anyone is welcome to join me. I spent part of my morning as a double agent.

Image

Here's the back door at Southfury River in the Barrens off the coast of Azshara. Two level 75 guards.

Image

There's my arrow on the map at the above picture. Idea is to get to the blue area in the south - Valley of Spirits.

Image

Far side of the bridge, 4 more level 75 guards plus one level 75 patrol.

Image

Two by the bonfire also level 75, closest two on the road are 30, and the far one on the road is 80. 8O

Image

Road right by the valley, another bonfire with two 75s, and that same 80 pat.

Image

In the valley, no guards. Behind me are three trainers, two are level 40, one is 35. Didn't see any players at all, but obviously that could change.

Her armor is red because I ran her into Stormwind awhile back. I think this quest will be a lot more difficult for the Horde.

Hmm... I suppose I should make sure that water is deep enough to fish in. Level 4 BElf there doesn't have fishing. :?

I have come upon a slight problem I was hoping someone here may be able to advise on.
I finished my trial, bought the game and have it all loaded onto my pc...only to discover the key code to get an account is for the EU servers.
The problem being I don't want to be on the EU servers!
Is there a way around this or a way to change the key code to US?

I think he just bought a US version of the game and used that key code.

Yeah, as I said before, EU account = EU servers, US account = US servers. The account you get with the store-bought game will be for the region you bought it in.
You can't transfer your account across, either.

So if you've paid for an EU account (which is what you pay for when you buy from the store; the game disks are irrelevant, really) then I'm sorry but you're not going to be able to do anything with it, unless you decide to play on the EU servers.

Was the trial account you had US or EU?

@Sorus: I tested, that pool is fishable. It'll be tough, you'll have to die, res in a spot out of guard range, and quickly get one fish in before any players spot you. I'm not sure if going in naked (no repair bills) orgeared (die fewer times) is better.
Edit: Further testing: I know from experience that damage does not interrupt fishing, though interrupts (duh) will. Tested, and I can start fishing while bubbled. I cannot start fishing while in combat.

From my little tour, looks like most of the guards between gate and pool can be avoided by hugging the right hand edge of the valley.

Now that you have the game installed, you can buy US codes online for WoW and Burning Crusades (that is what Murrin did), then you can log on to the EU servers when you want to play EU friends and US servers for us!

Actually I ordered a US copy of the game, because the WoW site wouldn't take my debit card.

Basically where I stand:
I have the game loaded onto my pc but I do not have an account as of yet. I bought a UK copy of the game which comes with an EU key which is as of yet unused.

I am guessing that if I buy/trade/find a US key I can create a US account and still use the game I have installed?

Murrin - you say a UK debit card will nto work on the US oaccount?
I guess that means I am on my own then. :(

Worldofwarcraft.com only accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express. My car is a Maestro, putting it through as Mastercard didn't work. They take Paypal for subscriptions, but you can't create an account through Paypal.

The game you have installed has a file which tells it which server to connect to for updates and for login. If you change the login server to the US one but leave the update one EU, it should work fine. You'll just be unable to play after a patch (Tuesdays) until the EU servers release the update (Wednesdays).

Oooh... that is a pretty spider. It'd be a good PvP pet.

Hmm... wonder if they'll fall for FD.

I am tempted to run in with nothing but my deepdive helmet, a cape, and a fishing pole.

I was thinking of just the fishing pole, but it occured to me that being too squishy for the 75 and 80 elite guards will just mean the Horde players have more time to look for us while we're corpse running.

Edit: Flash of inspiration while flying around Kalimdor: Don't go through Barrens - go to the flightpoint just inside Azshara, then ride down the river to the bridge. Less chance of being spotted.

Ooh, good call. At any rate, it'll have to wait until tomorrow for me - have to go into work early.

Hit revered with Timbermaw last night - it goes pretty fast. I've been going to the camp just outside the tunnel on the Felwood side because it has the fastest respawn rate.

I managed to get the card to work and got some US codes...so I am up and running!

I have a nightelf druid under the name of Chrysaliss and a horde character...but noone here seems to be on the horde side :P

I've got a couple of horde characters, but they are on Dalvynger, a pvp server. :)

A lot of trouble with lagging today, mostly with my horde characters, but I just ran an AV where the latency was horrible.

Niiice. That's a lot of work. I'm going for the Diplomat title first, mainly because I think it'd be funny to use in PvP and raids.

Awesome! Are you on Scryers?

IF - and it's a big 'if', but if I get home at a reasonable hour tonight, anyone up for giving ZG another try?

Indeed I am! I still need to work on the character a bit but Creator said to head over there so created one on Scryers.
So who is there?
