At least you got it fixed, Sea. I've had worse happen. Glad to see you back around here more often. We have been missing you fiercely.

This day just keeps getting better and better. It's my brother's 15th birthday, and my entire family drove up to my university (45+ minutes away from home) so I could join in for the birthday dinner. It was lovely, and I got to spend time talking with my brother (we're pretty close), and the food in the restaurant we went to was infinitely better than the food in the dorms. When I got back to the dorms I showed some funny online videos to a friend who hadn't seen them before, and now she's addicted too. And I have tomorrow to look forward to. I am

Auleliel's weekend is gonna be fab. Sea, it's good to have you back and back to a state of normality. I'm guessing that means you will be around here more which is good for us. It's Saturday and you might ask yourselves, "Why is Jenn up at 6:12 am? It's because Moose woke me at five thirty and needed to go out and I haven't been able to get back to sleep. He is. He is sacked out and snorting and snoring at my side. It's a good thing my dog is so damn cute otherwise I might have to kill him. Jumping on my head at five thirty am. NOW NOW NOW I need to go out NOW NOW NOW. I'm doing a sort of reverse torture. I keep scratching him and loving on him to wake him up. Earlier it woke him but now he is just asleep and I can scratch him and it makes no difference. I think I am a little jealous of his sleep capabilities.

That sounds like a great day, Auleliel!
Jenn, it sounds like Moose sleeps like I do. In a mild coma.
As for myself, who the hell invented waking up at six in the morning! Argh! On the plus side, I'm going to see my ladyfriend march at a band competition today, so it's worth it. But still. The SUN isn't even out yet!

A lazy day today. We didn't have Czech class, so no drive to Baltimore -- yay! It rained nearly all day (the sun finally broke through about sunset), so I stayed inside. I read and knitted and made chicken soup. I also sorted through the pictures I got from Mom's house, looking for shots of departed family members for a Samhain dumb supper I'm attending tomorrow. (That's "dumb" as in "no talking", not as in "what a stupid idea this supper is".
) Now, while I'm online, Morgan is pestering me to play with her.
Tomorrow I get to sleep in *again* (ahhhhhh...), then make cookies for the dumb supper. At some point I should do my Czech homework. I kept meaning to start it today. Ah well....

It was her last comp for her senior year.Menolly wrote:Who does she compete with, balon!? High school, college, or DCI? I love watching the DCI competitions, even though I don't play an instrument...
[trying to remember if the prom pics were junior or senior prom...]
Her school had never even placed before, and yesterday they took first in Division, High Music and Effect, and seventh overall (out of 27 schools) beating out at least 10 AAA schools (they're AA). So they kicked a lot of ass.
And it was a great way for her to end her career.

I finally was able to get a babysitting job. I've been trying all semester, and everyone needed me to have a car, which is a problem as my car is basically invisible and insubstantial (or more accurately, nonexistent--it does make the amount spent on gasoline quite a bit cheaper though). Today I babysat for two beautiful little girls (1 yr. and 3 yr.), and am lined up to sit the next few Mondays as well. We had so much fun, and they really seem to like me.

Great news, Owlie!
I was a hermit most of the weekend, and did a crap-ton of laundry yesterday. And then promptly burned a three-inch swatch of my left arm when trying to prevent the iron from falling face-down on the carpet.
My Monday is nearly over (just have to write some progress notes), but I just burned my palate on the first bite of the egg roll that came with my dinner. Meh.

Poor Lyr! Stay away from curling irons while you're at it!
Feeling pretty darned relaxed right now. Spent three hours cleaning the house today. Glad to have that out of the way.
Ever since I got rid of all my LPs, there's been one that I wished I had hung onto. (It's Renaissance music -- I'd tell you the name but it likely wouldn't mean anything to anybody but me...) It's never been released on CD. Last week, I spotted a copy of the LP on eBay and bought it, and it arrived in the mail today. Yay!
Now I have to find a place that will record it onto CD for me. I know I could do it myself, but since it's just one album, I think it'll be cheaper to have a service do it, rather than buying a USB turntable....
