Are they going to escort him the whole four days or should we be taking up a collection to hire private bodyguards?

Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Nice thought, but no. Too much traveling already this year.Menolly wrote:...y'all could always come to NYC the previous weekend...

Xar, let's definitely plan on dinner Wednesday night and see what develops from there. I'll go post something in the (moribund) thread in the SRD forum....

I better keep Hyperception far away from this thread...

I know exactly how to defuse the situation...
Menolly, Fist... sorry, I won't be taking my laptop with me. Too many restrictions on electronics on the part of custom officials, including the power to search through your files at their discretion and possibly even seizing your computer if they don't like what's on it... As a matter of principle, I don't like people going through my stuff, so I'll just leave my computer at home.

No worries, Xar. This is something I'll happily do on my own if you have no interest in it...

Allright, I'll be leaving for Washington DC on thursday morning, and I'm not sure when I'll get some time on the computer after that, so for those who would like to meet - we can either pm a time and place now (maybe to confirm later, but at least we have a head start) or just let me know and I'll give you my phone number and hotel details, so we can keep in touch!

Thanks for jogging my memory, Xar -- I meant to pm you and forgot.
I'll do it right now.

Okay, here's who we've got for DC so far: Xar, me, Creator, and possibly Jay. Others?
So we're down to picking restaurants.
Xar's staying near Thomas Circle, so I'm looking at Dupont Circle restaurants (lots of choices and not far to walk). The Washington Post likes Mark & Orlando's at 2020 P St. NW, so I'm inclined to make that my first choice. There's also Luna Grille at 1301 Connecticut Ave NW; I've eaten at their place in Shirlington a couple of times and have always had a good meal. Alternatively, we could eat at the restaurant at Xar's hotel. Aaaaand I'm amenable to other suggestions.
So we're down to picking restaurants.

The plan is still to do dinner on the 26th, which is the night before Thanksgiving.

Just a heads up for everybody. Xar is staying at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza in DC. Don't stay there if you don't have to. I called and asked to talk to one of their guests. At which point I was transferred to Reservations. I said I didn't want to make one, I wanted to talk to one of their current guests. The guy said to call the main number again, and ask for the front desk. Which I did. After holding for a minute while the front desk took care of someone, he came back and said, "The operator transferred you here?" I'm not sure what department would be best to transfer my call to Xar, but front desk seemed like a good idea to me, too. Ah well.
Anyway, Xar, you have a message waiting for you on your room's phone.

So, a quick update: Xar, Creator/Devawhatsis
, Talmag and I had dinner at Mark & Orlando's near Dupont Circle in DC. (Jay bailed. Imagine that.
)
There was a fair amount of talk about Pantheon, which I *think* I followed, mostly. Of course they tried to recruit me.
Anyway, we had a great time. Xar's a great guy and so's Talmag, and the food was good. But nobody thought to bring a camera.

One of us, one of us, one of us.
But seriously, had I known no one was going to bring a camera, I would have brought mine.
It was a blast though, glad I could meet to other people who frequent the Watch. Creator gets so boring after a certain amount of time

Xar didn't bring his camera?
Nor Creator???

...wish I could have been so lucky...
But I understand he would have had to answer to the wrath of Paolo if he didn't get pictures of Fist and me. He may still for not getting any of Creator...
*think Sunrise*
Anyway, for now ali, you're under no alliance restrictions. If you recall anything Pantheon related...
I'm all ears...
Nor Creator???

Did y'all succeed? Will ali be joining us if there is an opening???Tarnished Sword wrote:One of us, one of us, one of us.aliantha wrote:There was a fair amount of talk about Pantheon, which I *think* I followed, mostly. Of course they tried to recruit me.

You've got a mean streak, bud. One wouldn't necessarily know it to look at you, either....Fist and Faith wrote:Hey, we all need to give him a break, folks. He's reading like the wind! He's up to, what was it Jay, chapter 4 in Runes?aliantha wrote:(Jay bailed. Imagine that.)

No, Menolly, I have not yet been assimilated.

Xar didn't let anything else slip -- that I know of. And how would I know anyhow?
