It just doesn't stop! Iirc there is a superb car chase, boat chase, rooftop chase within the first 20 mins or so. Or maybe it just went so quick it seemed like the first 20 minutes :)

Not normally my thing either.

I really enjoyed Casino Royale, especially since I avoided it for....Well, since last week.

It opens here next Friday (right up the road in Baltimore is where they're premiering it), and I can't wait.

I hear there's a trailer for the star trek movie. I'll be going just to see that... maybe I'll stay for Bond. :P

I've already made plans to go see this one next Friday, and I never go see a movie opening weekend. I'm trying to keep my excitement in check so I don't end up disappointed, but I enjoyed Casino Royale so much, I'm having a hard time.

Ki has hated every Bond movie I've ever forced her to see. But she loved Casino Royale. We saw it twice in the theater and bought it as soon as it came out on DVD. We don't do that often.

We're really excited about QoS.

I practically had to beg Cailette to watch CR. Now she can't wait 'till Friday night when we go see QoS.

...hmm...

So maybe I should rent Casino Royale before seeing Quantum of Solace. It's not a remake of the original one?

Forget that the earlier one exists. QoS is an actual sequel to CR, so yes, you need to see CR first.

I loved CR!!! There's nothing like a killer bathroom fight!--I may not be able to wait for DVD, like I forced myself to do with The Dark Night (and am still waiting: damitdamitdamit! :P ).

Casino Royale is pretty clearly the best Bond movie. Craig may not be the best Bond, but he was in the best Bond movie, and he's really really awesome. Cant wait for QoS!

I need to see it. No-one to go with though, so it'll be a solitary trip. At least that means I can go exactly when I want.

I had COMPLETELY forgotten what Casino Royale was about by the time I saw QoS, didn't affect my enjoyment at all!

I expect a few replies on here later - I take it from comments that it opens in the US tonight?

I didn't think it was as good as CR, still good, just not great.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

QoS is definitely not as good as CR. This movie had so much potential, but horrible editing combined with a weak story made for a big letdown at the theater yesterday. Craig is still badass and IMO the best Bond ever.

The editing didn't bother me so much.

There's some excellent action in QoS, but the story is light. CR is the better film from a narrative standpoint.

What bugged me is that it wasn't really a Bond film. There was a nod or two to some of the conventions, but overall it was missing too much.

The Living Daylights is still the best Bond film, and Dalton was the best Bond.
