Bad movie, good soundtrack

Post by [Syl] »

I was listening to a few songs today on youtube and realized they were all off of soundtracks. And then I realized both movies suck. So I submit:

Last Action Hero
Spawn

I'm also tempted to add The Crow and Singles, just because both soundtracks are so good it's hard for the movie to meet the same standard.

What else?

Bite your tongue. To Live and Die in L.A. is one of the best films made during the '80s.

As I recall, the movie had one primary redeeming feature, other than the soundtrack. And that was a 15 minute car chase up the wrong way of a real interstate.

My criterion for whether the movie or soundtrack is better is that, while I would listen to the soundtrack from start to finish today, I haven't seen the movie since the one time I saw it in the theater. Although, I was exceptionally stoned at the time...

Has it ever been shown on television?

Come to think of it, based on your recommendation, I might just rent the DVD, if I can locate it.

Well worth it. It's very dated, but both Willem Dafoe and William Peterson are excellent in it.

See it without the weed, you'll be impressed.

Legend

Actually, it isn't a horrible movie, but the soundtrack is better than the movie is.

It's not a good movie. But yeah, Legend has a great soundtrack.

Scream For Help....Awful, awful movie, but the soundtrack was by John Paul Jones, and it featured Jimmy Page and Jon Anderson.

Death Wish II isn't terrible, but it's certainly bad. Awesome soundtrack (Jimmy Page).

Motorama is weird for the sake of being weird (which makes it both bad and pretentious), but features and interesting soundtrack by Andy Summers.

Singles wasn't bad. It just wasn't as good as the soundtrack. Same for The Crow (though all the sequels sucked hard, so I imagine each one of their soundtracks would qualify easily).

Excellent soundtrack indeed! What I would add is that the soundtrack did a great job of adding to the feeling of the movie.
