I started reading it yesterday. Anybody else currently reading or re-reading?

There's no way I could say with certainty how many times I've read the Chronicles over the years. I'm listening to FR on my Ipod currently, but will start listenting to TIW when it becomes available tomorrow.

I put "still working on first chrons" even though I have already read 1st, 2nd, and what we have of 3rd chrons, because I'm only on TIW in my reread so far, and I have a very scattered memory of what happened in 2nd chrons, so as far as discussions go I may as well have never read it. I will commence my reread of 2nd chrons when I have finished my reread of 1st chrons.

No idea how many times...I've been reading them since the early 80s, so maybe 10?

Yeah! I am on page 184 of TWL right now. I had just reread the 1st Chrons and just had to keep going. Will continue through WGW before going back again and finally looking into KW's 1st and 2nd Chron chapter dissections. Hey, after all you gotta have a plan to get you to AATE!

I've read all the TC books at least ten times. I will start again in a few months, but I need to buy Runes. No, I never bought it, I checked it out at the library. I cannot put these books down once I get started on them. It's new every time for some reason. I never get tired of it, even though I practically have it memorized now. The 2nd Chrons touched me because of the Giants. Oh, man, would it be great to know beings like that or WHAT?

Absolutely but you better have unlimited minutes in your cell phone plan. I don't see them being big on texting.

I am enjoying my third read more than I had anticipated. I forgot about the chapter dissections... gotta go check it out.

Glad you're enjoying your re-read! Hope you also find the dissections interesting and add your thoughts. The 2nd Chrons group read was one of the most stimulating times I ever had at KW.

Yeah, too bad it was so long ago. I wish we could do it afresh.

Well, the curious thing about the Chronicles dissections has been that with each successive book, participation has dropped. (Sharp-eyed Wayfriend noticed that pattern.) We talked about it in the "Dissecting Stats" thread: kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7196

This pattern occurred with the 1st and 2nd Chronicles reads, and so far, the same thing is also happening with the Last Chrons reads. Note the amount of response Runes had, compared to the response for Fatal Revenant (so far).

So don't be afraid to jump in and post some responses - especially in the WGW chapters. That great book is dying for a bit more loving attention from Watchers. Of course, it's understandable that readers might be reluctant to venture any opinions until they've read all the Last Chronicles and so have the complete picture laid out before them.

Indeed, as Matrixman said, please feel free to jump in with your thoughts on any dissected chapter.

Thanks dlbpharmd and matrixman! I have been doing yet another re-read and am currently on TOT. Once done my plan is to go back to LFB and simultaneously visit all the chapter dissections one by glorious one. Not that the 2 cents that I will add will add up to much but I am looking forward to reading what the other KWers have written. Hey, it will be a great way to spend the time waiting for the next book! Thanks again...

Funnily enough, I just finished the 2nd Chrons again, and I'm in Runes for the 2nd time (somehow I put off my second read for far too long).

What a great idea, Ajk!

I'm also in TOT right now, currently Cov is still in Kasreyn's clutches but all that is about to change.

Cool. TOT is my favorite book of the 2nd Chronicles. Not that I'm here to plug my own stuff, but last year I posted this thread:
Why I love The One Tree

I made the thread out of a desire to defend the book against the majority opinion here, which held that TOT was basically a pointless exercise in leaving the Land. I of course strongly disagree with that view. But anyway, just thought I'd mention the thread in case you'd like to read my verbose ramblings. It doesn't take much excuse for me to ramble at length about The One Tree.

Of COURSE it's not pointless! Without TOT, the character journeys in WGW would have been impossible or meaningless!
