actor suggestions for movie

Post by thecreator »

hey this is my first post coz iv only just found this site n im now bouncin off d walls wiv excitement lol, anyway here are my suggestions for some of the characters in any possible "TC" movies,

thomas covenant-Hugh Laurie(house)-he is perfect for the role, he's a fantastic actor who has successfully played roles with slightly similar personalities to covenant...QUICK EDIT,IV JUST READ A FEW POSTS AND IT SEEMS HUGH LAURIE HAS BEEN MENTIONED9ONCE OR TWICE LOL)BUT THIS JUST FORTIFIES MY SUGGESTION LOL
lena-jennifer love hewitt- i know i know...but she seems to posess a lena like innocence in my opinion
mhoram-sam elliott(the american pilot in the golden compass)-i spent a while thinking about this one but i believe "elliott2 would be perfect here, google him n you'll see what i mean,he seems aged but still retains a youthish glare in his eyes...perfect
trell-ray winstone(beowolf)-this is probably my most questionable choice but i think it would really work
troy-hugh jackman-definately,somuch attitude and passion....enough said lol
the haruchai/bloodguard-...im lost here although i did read a post mentioning chow yun fat playing aa haruchai....no way,i dnt mean to be rude but he is far to......immature(only word i can use to describe)for a bloodguard, maybe jet li at a push but i cant put a face to the haruchai characters...sorry :(
saltheartfoamfollower-sorry... i cant think of a good one for him,a rush of emotions comes straight to me when i think of him lol

thats all i can think of for now sorry, cheers for avin a read and all opinions, ideas or general banter will be appreciated,
:)

We have a bunch of threads in here like these. One thing good about summer TV (in the US) is that I get to watch Hopkins, House (I missed a lot of it watching football, instead), and NCIS (my wife works Tuesday night so all my attention is on the kid.) Anyway,

I watched House tonight and he, Laurie, was trying to deal with his ex described as a blond sadist with legs higher than the Grand Canyon. When I saw them together I said, "TC and LA!". Laurie would make a great Covenant but he's getting older, quickly, so he needs to get to work on LFB now. Re: Lena yes you've got a thang for JLH, but who can blame you-just as I offer Lee Lee Sobieski-they're both too old but I wouldn't suggest Lindsay Lohan or Miley Cyrus-Amber Tamblin maybe... :? While I love Eliot perhaps the "wizard" in the Altel commercials would be better, doubt if he can act tho... :P I've always wanted to portray Covenant but I'm built like Trell so cast me. I've always seen Hile Troy as black so I would suggest Terence Howard or Omar Epps (definitely not Lavaar Burton or Will Smith) . Bloodguard: Maoris. Saltheart: Ron Pearlman-has a huge presence in Beauty and the Beast and Hellboy, lives for makeup jobs-plus it would be nice to hear him laugh.

And here's a new suggestion: John Malkovitch as Kayseryn of the Gyre.

Covenant - Hugh Laurie (brilliant) as the window was opening to this thread, I said to my wife, Hugh Laurie would be a great Covenant, then, BAM, there it is. Get me a producer! (I guess I should present my screenplay).

Elena - JLH

Lena - Meryl Streep

Triock - Johnny Depp

Mhoram - Ian McKellum

Linden - Julia Roberts

Bannor - Mel Gibson

These are all off the top of my head. I am sure I could think of better if I work on it a bit. I might just do that...

Stay tuned.

I always thought that Peter O'Toole would have been a great Covenant a few years back. Robert Powell for Mhoram, neve rput much thought into the rest.

Hah....Pearlman yes good choice for Foamfollower...or any giant for that matter.
Sir McKellen as Mhoram....amazing pick,
Susan Sarandon as Atiaran?
Natalie Portman as Linden? or Elena?
Dame Judy Dench as Shetra, or Asuraka,
Steve Buschemi(sp?) would fit in in a few places,
Clive Owen as Trell, or as a warmark...maybe Hile Troy?
Mickey Rourke as Hile Troy.....

Speaking of Kate Beckinsale... how about her for Linden!!! I could listen to her complain all day long and still pay to see it again!

Check this out, Linden walking into Covenant's house and seeing Joan for the first time: www.imdb.com/media/rm3649739008/nm0000295

Here she's got that crazy look in her eyes, like she's about halfway through Fatal Revenant: www.imdb.com/media/rm1545705472/nm0000295

And some more pics, with no particular scenes:

Please don't ask why, but I was watching Star Trek - The Motion Picture this weekend (really... don't ask) and the scene where DeForrest Kelly comes on board the Enterprise with a full beard, cantankerous as ever, made me realize that, back in the day, DeForrest Kelly would have made a great Covenant.

We were watching "Incredible Hulk" this weekend (rather forgettable, I thought), and Kimberly suggested Edward Norton as Covenant.

I like his look for the part, but I don't think his voice fits at all.

Too funny!

We could cast the whole Chrons from Trek: (mostly TOS and TNG. I'm not familiar enough w/ the rest). I'm also keeping this to the first and second Chrons...

James Doohan - Quaan
Leonard Nimoy - Bannor (doesn't look like Haruchai, but is emotionless)
Patrick Stewart - Mhoram ;-)
Michael Dorn - Sunder
Jon Frakes - the beard makes him look like TC, especially in a couple of episodes where he's a bit wacked out. But not the right actor for the part. Let's cast him as Trell or something.
Brent Spiner - Amok
John de Lancie (Q) - also Amok, or even better...
Spoiler
Esmer
LaVar Burton - Hile Troy
Marina Sirtis or Terry Farrell - Elena
Kate Mulgrew or Diana Muldaur - Linden
Gates McFadden - adult Lena in TPTP (she could also be Linden. If I were TC, I'd prefer her ;-) )

William Shatner - I have no idea. Foul? Gibbon?

LaVar Burton - Hile Troy
But, he's already done a blind guy. 8)

Jeremy Irons would have also made a great TC a couple decades ago. What about Russel Crowe? Hugh Jackman?

Lena Headey is my vote for Linden Avery. She has the "strict" mouth for it and can maintain personal conflict without getting annoying.
Speaking of Kate Beckinsale... how about her for Linden!!! I could listen to her complain all day long and still pay to see it again! Big Grin

I know, but it was an obvious choice...
