I need to start going to bed before 5:30am. Especially when I have to wake up at 8:15am.

Can't *wait* for NaNo to be done. I'm losing serious amounts of sleep, trying to write in the evenings after work.... Hoping to hit 25,000 tonight. If I can keep up the pace I've set over the past couple of nights, I might actually make the deadline. 8O

Well, I somehow knew this was going to happen. They called me and I started out as juror 13 then was moved onto the panel when juror 12 was excused by preremptory challenge. They got up to challenge number seven and then we ended after the seats were refilled and most had preliminary interviews. It's not looking good for me folks. It's a doozy of a case as well. The list of charges was lengthy and messed up and all violent. Multiple possible life sentences involved. Ugh. I can't believe I wasn't excused because I might know one of the people on the witness list. The judge asked me how I knew him and I told her he may be a customer of mine and she asked me to describe him and I told her he was early to mid thirties, asian, about five foot ten, nice looking and drives a white 97 BMW M3 which actually got quite a laugh from the judge, lawyers and prospective jurors. Anyway, so back again tomorrow to see if I am gonna be stuck.

Well, if you were to quiz me on my customers I could tell you in detail what they drive and what the last job we did on their car was but I probably couldn't tell you what they do for a living or how many kids they have with the exception of a few.

You'd know everything about them, if they had brought a dog with them. :P

I hate having a stuffy nose.
Can tell if it's allergies or what. I don't feel sick.

Welcome to my world, MsMary. :( My nose is *always* stuffy. People are forever asking me if I have a cold. The last time I didn't have a stuffy nose was when we were in Albuquerque in June 2007. But I have no doubt that if I moved there and lived there long enough, I'd develop allergies to desert plants and be right back where I started....

So, what do you do for it? I took a Sudafed, but that just seems to have made it worse, if you know what I mean, by drying me out too much to breathe on one side.

You just need to something about how you're looking forward to hanging that d*mn defendant. ;)

And then maybe pick up The Runaway Jury for light reading. ;)

sure fire way of getting out of jury duty..say,,yes , i had a uncle brother father grand father ,aunt sister mother grand mother, dear friend that was a victim of just this sort of crime, and i don't believe i could weight the evidence presented without a heavily prejudiced perspective.

It's too late. I've been sworn in. Besides, I honestly think I can be a fair and good juror and if I were the defendant I would want someone like me on the jury. It's probably all Steven Erickson's fault. Both the D.A. and the Defense attourney and his assistants clearly looked at the size of the book I was reading and must have made an assumption that I was intelligent. :P Damn you Erickson and your book "Reaper's Gale."

HAHAHAHAHAHHA! He is innocent until they prove the crime and his participation. I have a feeling though that since the majority of people on the jury are computer techies and entry level service people that I might end up taking a more leadership role in the deliberations.

Suffer. :P

I went through most of a series of shots, many years ago. I've done prescription meds off and on, depending on finances and whatnot. But eventually my system accustoms itself to everything and they stop working. The most recent attempt was a prescription cortisone nasal spray (Rhinocort Aqua), which worked really well 'til my nose got used to it; when I realized I routinely needed more than one spray per nostril to clear things up, I quit using it.

Now I just sniff a lot. :( If I get a cold, I do Sudafed (the real stuff that you have to go to the pharmacist for, not that new crap  ) during the day and Nyquil at night. Advil Sinus (again, the behind-the-counter stuff) for sinus headaches, which, oddly, I haven't had many of lately. Other than that, I just tough it out.

And that's probably WTMI on my allergy issues....
