Thank you for the laugh Null. Thank you Lucimay for listening to me rant. I appreciate it more than you realize.

I was forced to go bowling. I won 1 1/2 out of 2 1/2 games against 4 other people. I never win in bowling (even tonight I didn't break 100).

I was obligated to go bowling last year - it was our staff Christmas get-together. We were split into teams. I started well for mine (I even got a strike) but slid pretty quickly into mediocrity. I was just glad we didn't finish last.

end of the fist day of Twilight. The theater is moving like a well oiled machine, and Mr Mason (the new GM) is proving himself in most of the employee's eyes. I like him.

A decided lack of douchbagerie under his watch.

My ability to bowl was ripped from me. Literally. I was in an accident where I was rear ended and THEN struck in the driver's door by a drunk driver in a Ford Powerstroke diesel while driving my old 96 Geo Prism. I tore all the muscle bases and cartilege in my right rotator cuff and had months of physical therapy as part of the result of that. I can't hold and throw a bowling ball for more than three frames without pain. The one time I tried to bowl after that I resorted to the double handed squat and roll between the legs action because i couldn't swing the ball. Still did pretty good though.

how do i feel today? let me count the ways;
left leg has a tite spot half way between knee and ankle, still have a numb spot on ball of left foot from last leg cramp episode.

woke up with sinus pressure on rite side of head . a couple of warm water snorts will take care of that.

lower back pain is rapidly fading with the intake of this mornings coffee.

Right shoulder tightness has eased considerably over the last week. So far today the shoulder remains out of mind. Neck still crackles like cracking a finger joint when exercised to an extreme position.

Bowels and inner organs are signaling no alarm due to heavy intake of water that the desert environment mandates on humans. Lungs are weezy due to a long nicotine habit. A hot shower will loosen that situation up and the cycle will start all over again.

Sun is approaching the horizon coloring the few wispy clouds in pinks and oranges , a witnessing that always lifts my spirits. I have much to do today,,or planned to do, so after the coffee and breakfast I must get going. But for feeling so good,,i can enjoy it for awhile, rite?

It's probably all Steven Erickson's fault. Both the D.A. and the Defense attourney and his assistants clearly looked at the size of the book I was reading and must have made an assumption that I was intelligent. :P Damn you Erickson and your book "Reaper's Gale."
Yeah, I feel the same way, although I think I would be uncomfortable about a nasty case like you have. I was on a jury once too, and I ended up being caught up in it. It was thankfully a boring case of a contractor and subcontractor fighting it out. Strangely enough, I spoke up quite a bit during it all and was the one that suggested we let the prosecutor win, but only give them a bit of what they are asking. Then we found out we had the power to decide how much they were awarded, so woo! So many sitting there just looked like they wanted to go home.

So yeah, Jenn, I don't envy you having to make a decision of what to do with someone's life, essentially. Mine was about something meaningless (money that both had). Watch 12 Angry Men, and make sure you are making the decision that sits best with you and that you can live with.

What Cag said. Good luck, Jenn!

Today was our last Czech class of the semester. We had to bring in an item -- anything -- and then we got to break up into small groups and take as many items as we want and write a little skit or story about it/them. I was in a group of three. One guy brought in a bottle of Becherovka (Czech liqueur) and the other guy brought in a giant plastic cockroach (and I mean big -- it was about 18 inches long and six or so inches high). So our dialogue (trialogue?) involved how the cockroach got so big by drinking Becherovka. And then everybody in the class got some Becherovka. Pretty sad to be tippling at 10am, but hey -- na zdravi!

Then we had our traditional end-of-semester potluck with the whole school, which was tasty as always. And now I'm done with Czech for about a month and a half -- yay!

I unexpectedly was invited to go out to dinner with a friend's family after watching/listening to that friend play in a piano concert. It was lovely music, and it was nice to eat food that wasn't provided by my school's cafeteria.
Must get back to hitting the books now. Anyone want to write my history paper for me? No? I'm not too keen on the idea myself. Oh well.

I'm annoyed at myself. I keep falling asleep on top of my homework, and I have enough homework that I can't afford to do this.

Suffer. :P

I went through most of a series of shots, many years ago. I've done prescription meds off and on, depending on finances and whatnot. But eventually my system accustoms itself to everything and they stop working. The most recent attempt was a prescription cortisone nasal spray (Rhinocort Aqua), which worked really well 'til my nose got used to it; when I realized I routinely needed more than one spray per nostril to clear things up, I quit using it.

Now I just sniff a lot. :( If I get a cold, I do Sudafed (the real stuff that you have to go to the pharmacist for, not that new crap  ) during the day and Nyquil at night. Advil Sinus (again, the behind-the-counter stuff) for sinus headaches, which, oddly, I haven't had many of lately. Other than that, I just tough it out.

And that's probably WTMI on my allergy issues....
Thanks for the info.

I have never actually been tested for allergies. I use the Sudafed (the real stuff) when needed and it usually works. Chlortrimeton or a low dose of benadryl is what I use at night, when needed.

I can't use the cortisone type nasal sprays because my eye pressure goes up when I use corticoids. I don't have glaucoma, and have no desire to induce it. 8O

My nose itself seems to have cleared up, but I feel like my sinuses are still having issues.

Plus, I have been having an off and on tinnitus problem that may be related to sinuses/ears/headache/salicylate use. I stopped using the salicylates, and the ringing is better today, but I will go a bit nuts if it doesn't go away altogether.

MsMary -- good luck! I took Benadryl briefly when it was still prescription-only, while trying to find a drug that would help me long-term. Benadryl does nothing for my nose, but it does promptly put me to sleep.

We don't get grades. It's all just for fun. :) Although I think I did pretty well, given the comments on the homework papers I got back.

This teacher splits this "course" into four semesters worth of classes. So I am going to take it again in the spring. (What the hell, might as well do it while gas is still cheap...) I'm told that in the next-higher class, the instructor speaks Czech almost exclusively, plus she's a native speaker. 8O I think I'll spend at least one more semester at this level before trying to move up.... A number of folks in our class take both this one and the next-higher one at the same time. I may do that at some point down the road.
