Ugh

Post by CaamoraTime »

I started reading the 1st Chronicles again, for probably my 8th time or so, on Saturday and I was just as hooked after 200 pages as I was the first time I read the story. My wife and I were visiting her parents in TN and after our 14 hour drive back through nasty traffic I just realized I left the book at their house.

Do I hit up some bookstores and buy another copy or just skip to the beginning of The Illearth War? It's not like I'll forget any parts of it, but I just feel wrong by not finishing the first book. I guess I feel bad at the idea of missing those 200+ pages like going through a ritual and skipping part of it.

You, everyone actually, needs to have multiple copies (in the car, the pocket of a suitcase, vacation home and a laptop case for example) in several locations at all times.
Hard covers get a bit trickier because of the expense but I'd say at least two of each as the new ones come out.
One to keep clean, a showcase if you will, and the other to get messy from reading while eating and drinking and, for the passages where Linden makes you want to reach into the book so you can strangle her (she did that to her own parents only because they couldn't kill her first), stabbing it with a knife.

First class mail would be my first choice.

And maybe if you tell us where you live, there might be a Watcher nearby who can loan you their book until you get yours back.

I'm with Wayfriend. Priority Mail? It'll be back in your lap in a couple of days (OK, maybe "less than a week")

Where in TN? If it's close enough I'll go to their house, pick up the book and mail it to you. Anything for a fellow Watcher! ;)

... and then you can also try borrowing a copy from the library.

Isn't it nice to have all these people who truly understand the crisis involved here?
... nobody I know.

Amen! My wife didn't seem to grasp the gravity of the situation. lol

I'm just going to have her mail it to me and I think I'll use a suggestion from above and hit up the library before it closes this afternoon.

Thanks for the understanding and great suggestions everyone!
