I so, so, so want this game released in America. From what I've heard it could seriously contend with Chrono Trigger as my favorite JRPG.

In other words, yes, Mother 3 is most certainly the work of one Shigesato Itoi, whose Mother 2’s instruction manual began with lyrics and a request that the player sing those lyrics over the melody that recurred throughout the game’s progression.

Yup. If you don't sing along in Mother 2, you won't enjoy the game properly!

There is a patch that's expected to be done in, eh, a few months maybe, by Starmen, the Earthbound fansite. They did some campaigning and such to get Mother 1+2 and then Mother 3 in america but it never panned out.

Mother 3 is probably the #1 game I want to play in english that I can't.

You would think Nintendo's penchant for making free money and the fact that Mother has cult status here in America would be painfully obvious to them, but nooooo. Maybe they're holding big plans for a DS port. I can only hope.

Hey Foul,
The patch for mother 3 is done. You can play it in english.

It's amazing.

Make sure you know how to use save-states because when I tried it I was unable to save using the save points distributed throughout the game (it simply tells me it's "unable to save").

No video game has ever made me cry but this one has come close. Which just goes to show I'm a complete sap.

That's annoying... I bought a thing just so I could play the game on my DS. Hope I don't have to continually push some button combo to save.
