I feel like my life is just beginning. As much as I did in college and especially in writing, I feel there's places I've yet to go, abilities to improve, evolve upon...as well as things to do, people to meet... Damn, I love the early 20s. My 30s should be nice. Hrm. 40s will be grand, as long as the kids don't rebel. Damn typical kids.
It's nice living in this ancient era. We are ancients. We'll be ancients. I sometimes wish I'd been born a few centuries ahead; maybe by then there'd be the old mind-upload-to-the-computer thingy. Really though...we're on a frickin' life-supporting planet. No one ever takes any wonder in that. We're complex life. We talk about going ga-ga if we discovered alien life, how it'd change history; we are the changers for another race, somewhere out there. We're sitting on something so precious and we don't believe it.

Edit - well, apart from the first bit- that sounds like too much hard work

So the pervy customer is coming in to pick up his car tonight and Igor needed to leave early and the onlly thing keeping us here is the pervy guy so when Igor asked me if we could close early and I told him Don Quixote was picking up Igor tells me nevermind he can't leave me alone with the guy. I told Igor that Steve would stay and so Igor calls Steve into the office and tells him to make sure he stays by me at all times while the perv is here. To explain the Don Quixote moniker, I told Julie that the guy THINKS he's Don Juan but in reality he's Don Quixote, completely delusional.
Very sweet of Igor to look out for me though.

Pff. I was completely serious. You people are blind to the astronomical greatness of merely existing in this universe's vacuum. The moon could've been too far away 3 billion years ago and there'd be no high tide to make the mineral-rich primordial ooze our species came from... See, tiny things like that, just the slightest centigrade off...
Alright, I'm done. Back to being unthankful. Waaa. I'll think up a dull revelation about work later, then something to do with messed up hair.

.lf..Blind? ha!.the slitest centigrade off ,mite of.. probably did,,exist for much time. But the instant that centigrade off was " on",,everything was in place for things to start clicking..Now that you have graduated and are full of so much..potential..create that instant of centigrade On. Thats the proper Thanks to the Universe you came from and are.

Actually, the universe hates me, being entropic and all. Screw it... My thanks will come when it stops killing itself by forever-expanding. Later on my hatred of the universe may go back to thankfulness, but it will be tempered by a bitter-sweet maturity.
Amen.
By the way, what is in chapter 5 of Fatal Revenant, lurch? I can't be arsed to re-read it (wasn't even near one of my favorite books).

I spent all day running around.
And found out that I really should have surgery done on my knee.

IIRC, Linden spent the whole chapter whining about finding Jeremiah, and wondering if she could live up to Covenant's legacy....no, that was chapter 5 of Runes. Chapter 5 of FR was all about Linden whining and wondering about why Jeremiah liked Covenant better than her.Lord Foul wrote: By the way, what is in chapter 5 of Fatal Revenant, lurch? Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion
I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

Just finished up Christmas. Everything is mailed off that needs mailing, and nearly everything is wrapped. I feel like finals is over back when I was in college; that sense of relief. However, I just found out today that my boss wants me to work Sunday this week, so I only get one day off this week. Crap.

Life is a waste of time
Time is a waste of life
So get wasted all of the time
And you'll have the time of your life
I'm feeling rather proud. My son just told me for the first time today "MAMAAAAA POO-POOOOO!!!!". He's 2 and I guess all those months of asking him "Did you go poo-poo?!" have paid off. Now if I can just get him to sit on the potty without freaking out, we'll be making progress.
I've gotten all of the Christmas decorating done. Now I need to finish Christmas shopping. Ugh.
