I always liked the movie Scrooge from the 50's.
I would have liked to see the Grinch this year It's been a while since I saw it, but it wasn't on when I was watching tv.
The 24 hours of A Christmas Story on Turner has gotten to be a bit too much for me. I didn't watch it at all this year. It gets the overkill that It's a Wonderful Life used to have when every station had it on a half dozen times during the holidays.

Just watched Joyeux Noel again. Without doubt the best christmas movie ever. It captures the message of christmas - good will and humanity - far better than any other film, in my opinion. A beautiful movie.

Bump for that time of the year.

Not exactly Christmassy, but nice gentle but verry funny humour, we watched Calendar Girls tonight (reminded me of Saving grace which isn't a bad thing) then watched Les Choristes which was great too! Two good films on Christmas Eve can't be bad.....

I tried to like that one, but about the best I can say for it is that it's better than the Michael Keaton version.Cameraman Jenn wrote:Well, it's a winter movie but I am fond of this one:
Just finished watching Scrooged.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
