For Blackhawk.....female warriors with armor

Hey, BH, some ideas for the First's armor. I think this is from a video game, some screen captures or something. I don't think it's quite modest enough; I don't see the First being that revealing. But I see some practicality in most of it. I picture her wearing some of these items. She just needs the long iron-gray/black hair and steely gray eyes, dirt under her fingernails, and stern beauty to finish it all off. I see braids down the sides of her hair, in front of her ears, to keep it off her face. And most definitely a helm of some kind hanging on her belt. A couple of well-placed spears on her back, maybe a mace or cudgel hanging somewhere, and a dagger or two in her boot tops. Vivid imagination, eh?

Heard my ears aright? Did not the gaddhi grant me this glaive?

Well Rocksistor, those are some nice pictures but they are not what armor should be. It should be a composite of all those armors plus get rid of the low cuts. She should be covered from the neck down with some side guard to blunt side stroked from a longsword.
A nice rapier will put any of those armored women in the ground.
Most women shown with armor is for glamour purposes.
It needs to be praticial and protective. The First's armour will closely resembles male's armour. With the adjustments. The First was a swordmaiden, trained for years on use of the sword and other weapons. She would also have armor befitting a warrior. Her job was to kill. And as a warrior, she would have armour that provided the best protection, with the best mobility.
She would have had a shield and most likely would have had it strapped to her back. The shield wouldn't be a shield for just blocking, she would have bashed any enemy who got to close. It would also be able to be used as a batter device when she charge a group.
The helm is a good idea, braids arn't. Her hair may be cut in a fashion to make the helm fit. Braids leave you expose for somebody grabbing it and yanking you off balance.
But the pics are nice.

i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

Why on earth would you wear armour that exposes your vital organs?!?!?
Not that I mind the aesthetics, but you'd think that the crowd that complains about the exact acceleration and maneuvering capabilities of the Enterprise in Star Trek would also be equally rigid in armour design...
Or are they separate species of geeks?

i wonder if the first trained with lead-core weapons? if she wore weighted harnesses to build muscle? i also wonder if there were horses large enough to support a giant's weight in their Home... and if there were, was there jousting? enormous quintains to charge at? imagine the thunder of those hooves...
her armor was stone, also... overlapping or interlocked plates, iirc... im seeing a rounded samurai-type composition going on for parts of it. i agree that it might appear mannish, but also, i think she could make it womanly as well... the very stones or plates a piece of armor is made of can determine that. and what about mail? mail is good unless you're getting hit hard with a heavy, blunt object, which'll crush the links into your skin - nasty, very nasty to pick out, nasty to heal, nasty to scar...
interesting ladies up top there... funny, they all look rather shocked to be there, like "hey, why am i wearing this, again?".... there's a certain bearing and posture you have to develop to look cool and efficiently graceful, rather than a lump wrapped in metal... given her Giant-size and therefore the prevalent density of bone and muscle, im sure that the first has that in droves...

Holy cow, did that innocent link generate a host of negative comments!!! Those were screen shots from video games, folks, and only intended to give BH some ideas. I did not say, "Hey, Blackhawk, the First has armor exactly like these video game shots, so make sure you do your art like this." I will chalk up these no-brainer comments to your boredom while waiting for 2010 to arrive; we all suffer from that boredom. Be patient and be true, folks. Have some springwine and take a chill pill. I know the First was more practical than these pictures. They are only intended to give direction for FEMALE armor design for fit purposes since all the other pictures I could find were for male body types. Sheesh, or in the words of a great author, **sigh**

and scroll down the page. i'm disappointed that you can't really see the definition on the images that well but you get the idea. the pieces my toon is wearing are a hodgepodge from differnt sets but i do have a pvp set of Stalker Chain Mail that i'd be happy to show you as well.
the Death Knight armor is totally hot too but you can't see it in the pic all that well.
you should really just come to WoW and PLAY!!
