The next Doctor Who has been announced

Post by Loredoctor »

It's Matt Smith, and he's very young. Possibly too young, but it's too early for me to judge him.

If she withdrew from exaltation, she would be forced to think- And every thought led to fear and contradictions; to dilemmas for which she was unprepared.

I'll keep an open mind about Mr. Matt Smith as well. I don't know anything about him - and I want to keep it that way. :)

Yea, the first pic doesn't instill alot of confidence, but, truly it fits with most of the cannon, in that most of the Drs have gotten younger with each regeneration (I think Sylvester McCoy is the only one who got older wasn't he?

Tennant/Eccelston were the first Dr/Companion romantic love with Rose (And then Martha's blatant romantic love for the Dr). It's my hope Rose was a one time thing, and they aren't making him younger in order to continue with him being a love interest for companions.

I'm hoping for the best.

I'm wondering if the Specials are going to explore the Companion of Tennant's who we met at the library, since she was very obviously someone who knew and travelled with the 10th Dr

Was John Pertwee younger than Patrick Troughton when he became the third Doctor?

I don't know.
I always felt romantic interest was implied in the later special appearances of Sarah Jane Smith.

I guess Pertwee was older (51) when he took over, Troughton approx 49 when he left.

Yea, Sarah Jane definitely acted like a jilted/dumped lover, and the Dr. acted like he was guilty of doing so.

It's not canon that he get's younger, it only seems that way. He got older after Davison with Colin Baker and McCoy, and certainly Eccleston continued the trend of a 40-something-looking Doctor. It's with Davison and Tennant that we think that there's this trend.

I believed (wrongly) that Pertwee was younger than Troughton, which would make it a continuous progression of getting younger all the way through Davison, had I been corerct. I actually thought Colin Baker was younger than Davison too, because I thought Davison was much older than he looked. Aw, well, it was a good theory and explanation while it lasted
