Elizabethtown

Post by danlo »

The unhearalded Elizabethtown with Orlando Bloom, Kristen Dunst & Susan Saradon wonderful, very moving film about a millionaire hotshot who loses everything and is about to kill himself when his father suddenly dies-the way he copes will amaze you and Saradon is hilarious in her small role. This is a magical film and has already helped me face the impending loss of my Dad-I will buy this film.

Not a bad film. A little too sentimental for my tastes--but that's Cameron Crowe for you. The traveling CD she makes for him at the end is damn near unbelievable, but very sweet.

By the way, it wasn't shot in Elizabethtown ("E-town," as we call it). It was actually shot pretty close to where I'm at--Lexington, KY--in a smaller town called, Versailles (pronounced "Vur-sales" . . . yes, very redneck). I think a couple of shots were in E-town, but most of the small town stuff was Versailles. It was a pretty big deal, at the time. Girls going nuts with Orlando sightings, and such.
