It's on my list too, but I need to focus on gear first.

Ran around today and spent all my cash from the last coupel of days of dailies finishing the city mounts - up to 41 now, with less than 1g left in my bag.

Edit: This just in: 10 minutes 4 seconds. Beat that.

Well, I just managed to run through Ramstein without pulling aggro, and get stuck in the room before the Baron. :hithead:

Forgot to set the timer; think it was probably decent but not a record. :P

That was Blood Furnace. :)

That was a good run, it brought Adolar up almost 1/3 of a level. :)

I'll post up one of the group pictures a little later.

Ouch. Yeah, you need to hit him as you go through, lately I finish the aboms at the bottom of the steps and hit him with my shield as soon as the doors open.

Took a few runs yesterday, getting better each time. I'm also getting less cautious - on two runs, including the 10 minute one, I aggroed a gargoyle in front of Nerub'enkhan's ziggurat, and rather than spend ages chasing mobs around (aggro one and the whole pack nearby is inevitable) I just burst down the boss and went inside as usual, and finished off the mobs that'd pulled on the way out. The nerubians still silence me with their web, which is annoying and slows me down, but I manage. I seem to do better time overall when I don't wait for all the pats to move away, even if I do accidentally aggro one.

It was only the second time I tried that; the first, I pulled aggro and the guards spawned at the same time. Second time I ran right through him and the door shut in my face. I spent a couple of minutes watching him wander around on the tracker, made a few futile attempts to shoot him through the door and send my cat after him, then I hearthed.

I've been going through withdrawal! At any rate, I have at least a couple of days off and hopefully my schedule will go back to normalish next week.

That's awesome.. it also made you really difficult to target, even though I could tell which one was real.

I seem to have a mini dilemma. Suggestions would be welcomed!

4 levels to 70 means I need to get the expansion. Simple enough except for the fact I have the UK versions of the game yet a US account and game codes. I figured I could just upgrade online and download the game and purchase a new code that way but no - it tells me I need a different version.
I am guessing if I do the UK upgrade it will give me a UK code which won't work for my account.
Does this mean I will probably need to purchase the UK game and code, then purchase the US code and spend twice as much?
I certainly hope there is another way!

i think that murrin will be able to help you figure it out chryss. he had to have damelon purchase and ship him a US version of WoLK i believe, but i think HE already had a US version of the software, whereas you are using UK softeware, right?

my friend jad says don't download the upgrade from the wow client, go to a mirror site like this one:

a.wirebrain.de/wow/

he said you should be able to do it from there, get the upgrade.

murrin may have better info than this or there may be a better mirror site you can look for. i just googled "wow mirror site" and this was the first one i came up with.

hope this helps!!!!! gotta get you to northrend!! i got TONS of group quests i'm gonna need help with! :D

You need two different things:
-the European version of the expansion files, and;
-a US authentication key.

There are a lot of ways to get the files without buying a copy; the simplest would be if you knew anyone who already had WotLK and asked to borrow their discs to run the installer.

Your next best bet is the online installer. I did a bit of digging (they don't make these links obvious on the homepage, heh) and found the link to the EU installer:

Click here to download the installer.

When you run that file, it should give you a drop-down menu to select what to install (WoW, tBC, or WotLK). Then it will download the expansion files directly from Blizzard. That might take a while. I used this same method to get WotLK from the US site on release day.
Note: If you install WotLK it will make your game unplayable until your account is upgraded.

Your only problem then is upgrading your US account, which requires you to buy the key. If you can't do this through account management, then you might have to find some other way to buy it. Not sure how to help you there. Buying a full copy of the US expansion might not be necessary, though.

Edit: after taking a look myself, acount upgrade on the management page sends you to the Blizzard store to purchase, and selecting online upgrade there sends you back to account management. IIRC if you've not upgraded yet there should be a button for it down among your subscription details instead, which may work better.

Thank you both!

I did a bit of searching on my own and found a copy of the UK game for cheap (£12) so I can at least upgrade at leisure from home. Still not quite sure about the key code but I shall worry about that when the time comes I suppose. I'll be sure to check with account management first on the off chance it lets me get it there!

Group quests you say Luci? Cool! I'll be there soon!
