NEAT!!..F&F there is something so inviting about that snow cake, I want to reach in and cut a wedge out of it...and bring it back to AZ to enjoy it. Thanks!

Haven't been here in a while.

Lurch, the Surreal Eye shots are freakalicious. The Kat's Claw and Sunrise Christmas Eve shots are awesome!

Fist, those are pretty decent pics off a cellphone. You've got a heckuva view from your deck! Much better than the parking lot my window overlooks.

Our deep freeze finally lifted this weekend, so I was able to head out and take pictures without risking my fingers falling off. But even some of these guys in the Leo Mol sculpture garden look like they're feeling the cold:

Thanks for asking, Ali. We lucked out and kept our electricity the entire time and the boys were out of school for the whole week (which they loved).

..and now..something totally different

Shots from backyard yesterday early evening...I don't kno all the physics involved but it has something to do with very high level very small ice crystals acting as prisms..Look Closely The view was fascinating and beautiful...not an everyday experience.

Okay.. sun Halo and sun dogs..cool

be sure to look on the left of the picture,,,rainbow effect from 2nd Sun Halo?

Now, we're on the rite side of the Sun halo with its sun dog..,,but.. be sure to check out the top of the picture...yet another rainbow effect..!!!!

Maybe you can just make out the sun halo,,but be sure to check out the rainbow near the top...

Awesome in its Awesomeness..

Of course the sky was lighter and briter but the camera had to deal with pointing into the sun..That makes it difficult to capture everything. Also , this is a good example of where a very wide angle lens would have captured.. the Sun halo, sun dogs , rainbows or second sun halo, or tangential arches,, whatever ,,,all in one shot. In an case..it was exciting in its spectacularness..It can be yours. Alls you have to do is.. look up.
