Dead Like Me

Post by Nav »

I've been watching a few episodes of this show which I gather has already been cancelled in the US after two seasons. I'm quite enjoying it, but it isn't hard to see why it might not have gone over very well. Each episode is a real emotional rollercoaster, throwing surreal and black humour at the audience interspersed with some really quite dark and disturbing scenes topped off with some highly emotional content. It's very well written though, especially when compared to its peers and George is a very original and likeable heroine, well portrayed by Ellen Muth, whose style and manner really make the character come alive.

Anyone else got an opinion on DLM?

A. Because proper tea is theft.

Like it. Saw maybe half of the first series, and the same of the second when they were showing on Sky One. I've been thinking of getting the series one DVDs (if they're out over here yet?).

Great show. Sucks that they cancelled it. I felt like it was really starting to hit its stride by the last half of the 2nd season.

Saw Rube on some medication commercial the other day. Depressing.

A superb show. I can't believe they cancelled it! Seems like everything worth watching gets cancelled these days...

I've been watching the show since it first came on. It's one of the best things on TV at the moment, and it'll be a real shame if this season is the last...although I'd rather see it go out on a high than drag on indefinitely like Friends did.
...but in the morning, I will be sober

Just recently discovered DLM....sadly, after it had been cancelled. We've got a half dozen episodes or so to go in the second season, and it's so depressing to know they're the last. It's a great show, with lots of ground to cover yet, but......it really does seem that everything worth actually watching gets cancelled before it's time, so that another crappy brainless (reality) show can take it's place.... :(

I may be wrong in this case, seeing as it's Showtime.....I have no idea about their programming, but still a shame...

Definately. You can see it would only have gotten better.
I missed big chunks of s2 when it was on TV, so most of this is new to me.

Dead Like Me: Life After Death

It was kind of strange with Rube gone, and though it was cool seeing Desmond filling that spot, the whole premise seemed a little off. But it was good.

Ellen Muth still baffles me. Some scenes she looks hot and others not so much. Opalescent attractiveness? Tell me I'm crazy.

You're not. She has one of those faces that makes you want to look again.

She seemed much thinner in the second season than the first though, not suh a good look :(

Great series
