Army of Darkness

Post by Mr. Broken »

Perhaps it is just a character flaw, but I consider this film to be among my top 10 of all time. I laugh, big, painful, gut laughs, that make my eye's tear up. Bruce Campbell is a true legend as far as I am concerned, and he pulls off this role with an ease that bigger named stars could never find. I will watch this film repeatedly, and unashamed for the rest of my life.

It's the Caddyshack of Horror Movies and I can't praise a movie higher by saying that.

It's in my top ten.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I'm afraid to watch it again... I loved it so much when I was a teenager, what if I don't like it anymore? :o

Yep, I laugh every time ... yet, somehow, even though it is only 80 min. long, it FEELS like much longer ... I think its becasue there is so much laughter packed in the first half that the second stretches a bit.

And I just bought Bubba Ho-Tep and can't wait to see that!!!!
