The rape of Lena can be done in a manner that suggests that the White Gold flares and the Wild Magic is Convenant's first experience with it. It overwhelms TC and he doesn't realize what he's doing until afterwards.
that would be akin to absolving TC of his crime and therefore rendering the whole rape pointless from a plot point of view. :?

Actually I still think that one of the short stories from Reeve the Just or The Daughter of Regals would be more suitable for filming - there are some really strong stories there that could be turned into good scripts (Ser Visal's Tale, Penance, Reeve the Just etc. to name a few).
That could also be a good test to see if the public is receptive to SRD's way of telling stories.
