Goldeneye. Any other responces are invalid.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

GoldenEye's aged a lot for me. I loved the single-player (and multiplayer was the most fun on the N64, along with Mario Kart), but the controls and the look of the game are very hard to get past. So I'd have to say Half-Life 2 and its various Episodes (can't wait for Episode 3 to come out).

And I for one can't wait for the Black Mesa mod, a Source remake of the Half-Life 1 game. From all the material they've released (trailers, pictures) it looks like a first-rate job and Valve should hire the folks who did it.

I had 007 on the main poll, but then because it's "franchise", and the sequels have been good but not stellar, I took it off and forgot to put it on the Options list...'edited'

A lot of those games I consider mediocre at best (Doom/Quake, Half Life, etc).

Others have great single installments but mess up on the sequels (Jedi Knight, Half Life, Deus Ex).

The only series I can think of, where every game is above par, is Crysis. Admittedly, there are only two games out right now, but D*** they're good! :)
