You really need to put Rourke's Homeboy on your boxing list-it's a little crude but raw and realistic, with a great soundtrack by Eric Clapton.

danlo wrote:Because it's my fav Rocky, that's why! :P I love the training he does; pulling the sled full of rocks, running up the mountians in the snow, doing the crunches in midair while hanging from the hayloft...etc...awesome stuff!
Yeah, the scenes of Rocky training in the outdoors juxtaposed with Drago training in the sterile Soviet gymnasium amount to shameless propaganda filmmaking, but it sure is fun to watch! Rocky IV is a guilty pleasure for me. It's so over-the-top that it's mesmerizing. Drago is hilarious. I love his lines, especially the classic: "I must break you!"

And wouldn't it be nice if World War III really could be fought and contained within the boxing ring?

Murderball!
Bull Durham
Bend it Like Bekham (may have to resign my masculinity for that one)
The Sandlot

NOT - Any Given Sunday.
Oliver Stone is not good. I don't know why the consensus is that he is. (Allright, Natural Born Killers was pretty cool, but not a work of genious or anything) Worshiping him only diminishes Hollywood's real greatest geniouses, men like David Fincher, Darren Aronofski, and Charlie Kaufman.

God that movie is loathsome. God Stone is loathsome. JFK IS BULLSHIT! TOTALL BULLSHIT! OLIVER STONE IS BULLSHIT! (ok, except for scarface also)

I really enjoyed Gracie, though it's not a typical sports movie.

And yes, Ollie Stone blows pygmies.

I figured you'd say that, I quite liked JFK, and did he not predict the future with Wall Street? Platoon remains one of my favorite movies as does Born on the Fourth of July (like Vanilla Sky one of the few movies where I can see Cruise as an actor), but this is sports movies, so I digress.

Here's a clip with music from Homeboy dam, I forgot Christopher Walken was in it!

While Alive did feature a soccer team, it's not exactly a sports movie.

I just remember Alive being good fodder for the discussion on cannibalism a while back.
