If they new or guessed that he had the Illearth Stone, they would have done something else, pursued a different vendetta, the white gold was in the Land, they would have thought of something, but would Cov do it?

I dont know how much of an effect it would have had on the future unless they had stayed and found the illearth stone... it had to be near because at the end drool died with it in his hands on Mt Thunder, Had they known what foul knew, and Foul did know the law of death would be broken, then i think they would have stayed and fought in the chamber and tried to make Drool tell them where the Illearth stone was..... but then again they may not have had a power strong enough to destroy the Illearth stone outside white gold so keeping it in their possesion would not have been a good idea... it would probably have corrupted them slowly turning them... and had that happened it would have been easier than building the armies and Using Giant Ravers to destroy the keepers of the land. they would have become what they hate and destroyed themselves or the land with a new desecration.

Best options for me would be

1. Fight to get the Illearth stone
2. Take it to Cerroil Wildwood, or possibly even drop it into the magma chamber in MT thunder...at least that way nothing living wold be able to retrieve it for Foul..and hope he cant teleport or levitate objects himself, but a lava pit might be like a nice jacuzzi to foul so he could manipulate everything from there and then it would be impossible for TC to destroy the stone in the end...

seems like a lot of messed up possibilities with any variation of the story...especially with Fouls Knowledge of the future, and since them taking the stone from him was not part of his prophecy to TC in LFB then it may not have been a possibility at all, meaning had the lords tried to get the stone they would have all died and left a shaken bunch of inexperienced lords with only the first ward and no staff of law to help them through the next 47 years.
