Most iconic image of the Chronicles

Post by LTG_5000 »

I'm planning on getting a Chronicles themed tattoo, but its really difficult to come up with anything due to the lack of artwork associated with the series. What do you guys think is the most awesome image from the story?

My original idea was just to get Covenant's ringwielding hand surrounded by silver fire with black and green veins in the flame.

Do ya'll have any suggestions?

Spoiler
Covenant engulfed in the flames of either the Banefire or the Camoraa for the dead Giants at Seareach.
The camoraa is the one I'd choose, not that you could really tell them apart in a tattoo.

That would be a sweet tattoo. But it would have to be quite large to get the level of detail I want in. I have added it to my list though.

BTW I'm sorry if I've posted this in the wrong area, I really wasn't sure where it should go

I recently linked to these in another thread, as Covenant-themed tattoos seem to be a repeating theme. This is the only Covenant-themed tattoo I have seen so far, but I still think it is stunning.

What about the cover of TWL, with Covenant reaching for the krill?

That is really quite cool. I wonder if that is supposed to be aliantha?

I can't tell by his reaction if SRD is delighted or appalled!

Well, if you like a darker style,(ya know like a demonic thing) how about Lord Fouls eyes looking out of the bonfire ? Maybe a Haruchai gripping a wolfs throat as it descends on him?My only concern for you would be somebody always saying to you "hey you like Lord of the Rings too? Otherwise, maybe a krill related thing, or something that relates to Covenants passion and commitment to the Land, rather than the tool he wields

Completely forgot about the LOTR parallels. I think that I might get Covenant in the Caamora with the text "Only the Damned can be saved"

Completely forgot about the LOTR parallels, thanks for pointing that out Manethrall Antonicus. I'd have people telling me all day that's not what Frodo's hand looks like and the one ring never does that. I'd then spend the next half hour explaining why TCTC is better than LOTR.

I think that I might get Covenant in the Caamora or the Banefire with the text "Only the Damned can be saved".
I don't know about the Haruchai one, but that's because I always picture them as looking like Jackie Chan but more badass.

You know, LTG, I really like your idea on the Covenant caamora/banefire thing. And your dead on about the Haruchai also. Well I didnt get a tattoo til I was 40.It was a product that the beverage company I work for carried.(Sobe) Yeah, the lizard looked nice painted on my right shoulder. Then Murphys Law reared its ugly head, and it got f*^%ing discontinued....it still looks great but I now have an antique on my skin!!

Does it necessarily have to be an image? There are so many good quotes in the series, like the one Waddeley chose, that you have many to choose from. How about "we suffice", "save or damn", fist and faith", "melenkurion abatha!", "remember your oath", "there is power in the earth", "hell and blood", "beloved", or a host of others. I personally like "we suffice," but you might want it to say "I suffice," to avoid stupid questions by folks, like "who is 'we'?" I agree, I can't tell if SRD is consumed by joy or mortified over the tat in the picture. He appears to be thinking, "you've got to be kidding me." But the tat is awesome, no matter.
Heard my ears aright? Did not the gaddhi grant me this glaive?

Well, I saw the same pic that you saw Rock sister, and yeah, he did look kinda freaked out. Maybe to him it got him thinking that shes gone too far...however, the young lady in the pic must have the greatest love and admiration for his work to get that done...if any at the Watch who reads this thread was there , I would sure like to know what was said at the time by him, or what his mood was after he saw that ....anyone??

How about a halfhand, with the ring on it, with a Wraith dancing on the ring?

The drawback to a simple NOM is that it is subject to misinterpretation by the LOLcat meme devotees...
