Inactive, but my two cents:
I still think The Watch should recruit, albeit though the application process (and yes, the whole Watch board* thing can be tedious, but at least we know that if someone goes through the process they're less likely to move on for bigger and better). There are plenty of people out there like Damelon (and myself) who find raiding schedules tedious and a bit un-fun at times. People who have high level characters but don't want to be Uber-Leet. Mainly, intelligent people looking for like-minded people to play the game with in a casual guild. Personally, I have a lot more fun running through heroics than doing raids.
*On the subject of The Watch board, I still think we should all make more of an effort to use the board, especially for guild business. I could make any necessary changes to the mechanics of it if that would help everyone.

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Good run last night. Broke some very old records, got some achievements, had fun.
Ulduar 10 is now one of Nixxe's recommended instances, though I would like to get her DPS to 3k+ before I set foot in there.
We're getting there. Huge improvements in DPS.
As to recruiting... yeah, it's worth a try. But I'm not going to be the one to volunteer to do it.
I spent weeks pugging before I found a group I liked running with, and while I respect that not everyone wants to join or put a character in Legacy, I am happy there.
Yes, it would be nice to see the Watch grow and be able to do more on their own, and I will support any efforts we make, but I am not personally going to be doing any active recruiting.

Hope everyone had fun tonight - completed our second full clear of Naxx and downed the first two bosses in Ulduar.
There are better geared, higher DPS groups that can't accomplish that, and the fact that everyone in the Watch learns fast and we all work well together counts for so much.
We do still need to work on enchants and hit rating, but just a couple of weeks ago many of us were nowhere near ready for Ulduar.
Next week will probably be a light week raid-wise to give everyone a chance to rest and handle AFK things. There may be a couple of things on the calendar, and we will probably knock out some old world achievements and work on alts a bit.

A screenshot of my raid frames, giving an idea of what I see.
www.picamatic.com/show/2009/06/07/05/21 ... 24x768.jpg
This is pitbull 4 in action. It's in config mode, so it's showing some stuff that won't usually be there in an actual raid, and it's pretty ugly. Ignore the druid mana and experience bars on my pet and focus frames, they're just there because those frames share the layout of my Player frame (the extra bars also squash up the health bars a little).
The health bars are usually colour coded by class, and turn red when a unit is being attacked. Power bars only show on mana-using classes, otherwise I see only health. Coloured borders highlight cleansable debuffs (blue = magic, green = poison, purple = curse, brown = disease). Buff and debuff icons show number of stacks, time remaining text (on mine only), and have the time remaining spiral effect too. My own buffs/debuffs are larger and highlighted.
I don't use my focus frame much, I set it up originally for healing but now use it for things like watching boss HP while tanking adds or watching my Understudy's buff timers on Razuvious.
In 25-man or 40-man the frames are replaced with smaller closer together ones in two columns. Until today I had those small frames for ten-man too, but decided to change them.

It was super fun Saturday. I think the fact that we didn't spend 3 hours on Construct made a world of difference for me. As for this week being light; does that mean we will not be running Naxx-10? Just curious so I can start planning out my next weekend. I will be there for OS of course!Sorus wrote:Hope everyone had fun tonight - completed our second full clear of Naxx and downed the first two bosses in Ulduar.

Kelleta will not be running Naxx 10 this week as she has a lot of RL stuff to take care of - Jess is in charge of setting up activities and may or may not put up a Naxx run. If he does it will probably be Fri/Sat.Web Monkey wrote:

That's fine, I will likely need to take a break one of those two nights anyway.Sorus wrote:

She found the time to help Nortoni last night, which was great. Hmm, I am developing a theory. In the past week Stormblaze, Nixxe, Irvea and Kelleta have enthusiastically helped Nortoni: Chicks dig gnomes.

i signed up for the old world raids tonight (and the rest of the week) but i may not be there tonight. my poem friend josh texted me last night to see if the poetry grp is going to get together tonight so i may be going to that and won't be on till late.
if i'm not on at my normal time, somebody tell kell or whoever is leading the raids where i'm at.
