Do you think that Obi Wan in EP 1 & 2 was portrayed well

Talk about both the movies and the books.

Heh, I did one for Anakin, so I'll do one for Obi Wan. Do you think Ewan Mc has portrayed him well, when you compare it to the earlier made films?

Yes, the man can actually act, which makes him one of the highlights in the movies he has appeared in. :)

I enjoyed Obi-wan in every film he's been in. :-) (even if he's a lying sack of ...)

Ewan is a good actor, and did a decent job with what he was given, but I don't think the young Obi-Wan really matches up with the old one. It wasn't so noticable to me in Episode 1, but as he became a bit older in Clones, he didn't really work. I can't put my finger on why, he just didn't sit well with me :?

I think he has done admirably, especially in light of the fact that he has been up against fan prejudice. It's going to be interesting to watch him mature some more in episode 3. And kick Darth Vader's butt.

Since Darth aparently get nearly hacked to bits throughout the course of the movie I suspect Old Obi-wan will get his licks in. :-)

Obi Wan throws him into a lava pit, during a Lightsaber duel.

EMcG was great as Obi-Wan in TPM b/c he portrayed him as young, reckless, and POWERFUL - he defeated Darth Maul, after all. In AOTC, McG portrayed OW as an old man - and weak. He got his butt handed to him by old man Tyrannus. You can't tell me that the guy who kills Darth Maul couldn't hold his ground against Tyrannus. Yoda was about to make mince meat of him, when he did the old evil cowboy trick (Helpless damsel tied to railroad track - you must choose)

Good point. Young Obi-Wan had potential, middle-aged Obi-Wan should have worn tweed slippers, he was so feeble

I suppose the if you look at Obi-Wan as a liar, like I do; and you look at any actor as a liar, who is trying to make you believe he's somebody he isn't; then any actor could correctly portray Obi-Wan, who lied and called himself Ben.

Is there anything at all that Obi said that we can rely on? Or does it all depend on our "point of view"?

I think if we replace the lying parts of his statements with truth, we can believe it all.

I wish Anakin had been portrayed well. Maybe In EP III.
