So SRD won't write any prequels. But if he were to (or allowed someone else to do it), what would you most like it to be about?
Myself, I'd go for the Ravers, followed be Kevin/Foul and the time between First and Seconds Chronicles. I want to know how and why the three brothers turned into Ravers, why they hated the Forest that much, what their ultimate goals are...
Voted for Berek. I'm not sure I could read a pre 2nd chrons Linden story, even if it was written by SRD. You know what I think would be really cool, though? If SRD published Or I Will Sell My Soul for Guilt under the pen name of Thomas Covenant.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

My own preference, if it was a prequel, would be three books involving the Old Lords. First book on Berek. Second book on Damelon Giantfriend and Loric Vilesilencer, and the third book on Kevin Landwaster.
I'll be honest, I don't know what he would do with a post Second Chronicles. Too many threads were tied together, too many doors shut.
Any jackass can kick down a barn, but it takes a good carpenter to build one.
I think the story of Foul becoming a Lord and Kevins betrayal is a story worth telling. The ritual of Desecration would - I think - make for an excellent story.
I'm with Damelon and Sylvanus on this one. Sometimes we Midwesterners have to stick together!
But then again, more about my fave dude Mhoram and the eventual rise of the Clave would probably also be interesting...

Okay first of all I agree with SRD -- a prequel is a LAME idea. HOWEVER
What is the deal with Kevin's name being KEVIN? Ever notice that? Everyone else in the Land has a "Land-ish" name -- Damelon, Berek, Loric, Mhoram, etc.
Then -- there's some dude named "Kevin". Like, "High Lord Bob" or "High Lord Matt" isn't weird or something.
So here's the thing: Was Kevin from the "real world" like Covenant? Things that make you go, "hmmm".
Sure, Kevin seems a little off because we recognize it... heh, High Lord Kevin Smith... but I'd guess it's just a coincidence. After all, how many Hiles or Lindens have you ever met?

Some of the other characters have names from our world, though, too, like Lord Trevor, Lord Hyrim, Lord Elena, and, of course, Lena. Those aren't the most common names, but people from our world do have them.

Actually Terry Brooks said the same thing about his Shannara series before he was forced to write a prequel by his publishers. He didn't want to do it, but once he got going he really enjoyed it. Anyway, I like the idea; it would always be nice to find out answers about previous events.
Btw, I voted for the Ravers. It would be interesting to read about the Elohim still roaming the world.
Echhhhh... Linden's life? That would be all nonfiction, I don't want that... Too depressing. Plus it wouldn't matter at all until the 2nd chronicles... Definately Lord Foul and Kevin.
