Yeah, it's the "rapidly growing" that rules out you and Rothmog. And Tawhiri vs Sunset has been pretty intense for a couple turns now, too. But Imray, despite constant problems and even war, hasn't had anything happen that is as dire as the CH seems to indicate. Maybe that's changed. Maybe one of them decided to end it once and for all?

We're actually taking guesses and posting them?Fist and Faith wrote:OK, I need lots of fixes today, since I was quiet for so long. ("Not long enough, Fist!" Yeah yeah...) So here's my guesses.
Ooo...
I disagree.Fist and Faith wrote:Of course, one of you knows who this is, and can just speak up. Heh. But until then, my guess is the Void. Mainly because of the domain. Easy to summon the WB from the void when you are the Void/Oblivion.Xar wrote:1) Someone thinks he/she has found a nice way to call the World Breaker back, and is doing just that!
TWB drove himself into the earth to once again crack the world. And I can't come up with any justification for The Void to want to do so.
cho's people are nowhere to be seen on Imray, except maybe for the occasional straggler attempting to make pilgrimage. uKulwa has always asked for cho's people to leave; otherwise he has no justification for attacking, much less having anyone there to attack. I doubt it's Imray. Unless it involves others than cho and uKulwa.Fist and Faith wrote:Imray. The other conflicts are not growing rapidly, but something could have happened on Imray. Of course, there's Nyitha, but I wouldn't expect the word "chaos" to be the best word. Plus, I'm pretty sure #3 is me, and I don't want to be greedy with these.Xar wrote:2) One of the continents is seeing a lot of chaos due to a rapidly growing conflict which is spiraling out of control.

I'm going to guess The Shattered Lands, with the second destroyed moonbridge and Amplarx's withdrawal. No real reason; just a hunch.
Could be. I have two other guesses; both currently pulling equal weight. But I would rather not post those. Besides, you already know one of my guesses.Fist and Faith wrote:Yup, this one's gotta be me. As I said, it's not that I hadn't considered there would be a hefty price, it's just that Zephyr is a bit beyond caring about such things these days.Xar wrote:3) Someone's plans have turned out to have a hefty price attached, a price which was not considered when those plans were made

Interesting guesses Fist. Find #1 surprising though. The Void has little enough interest in current gods let alone old ones. As a player I didnt even know who the world breaker was till yesterday
As much as I think you are right on #3 I must admit I'm a tad paranoid about it being me. But results will tell.

Of course Fist thinks number three is about him. We all probably think number three is about us.

You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

Yeah, Void was my guess only because of the domain. I could easily imagine your results saying something like "Some of your followers were experimenting with new spells of Oblivion, and they felt a powerful presence." Or they found an artifact that was strong with Oblivion. Or something that Void would have been able to divine information on more easily than anyone else, and it turns out WB is behind the whole thing.Dorian wrote:Interesting guesses Fist. Regarding the world breaker, Nor Yekith was planning on helping him return to Eiran.
Regarding the last hint, I really believe that it refers to Nor Yekith. He's done something pretty major this turn.

So I've been thinking a lot about making the effort to hide the players in P4, and the more I think about it the more it makes sense. Here's why:
1. It would create a blank slate; no one would gain an advantage from their experience of how a certain player generally plays a deity.
2. Simplifies the politics of the game. Instead of the strange meta-politics that often occur between players, it would relegate the interaction to in-game and pm's between deities. Essentially it would eliminate the concern brought up in Dorian's posting, as any potential conflict would occur solely between deities and not players.
3. Reestablishes the mystery of the deities being role-played, and provides a more believable and compelling narrative overall.
Of course, every player would have to make a conscious effort not to reveal themselves to others - which could foreseeably become very difficult, especially when pride for an in-game action takes over and the urge to discuss it with other Watch friends becomes particularly strong.

As far as anonymity goes, I hope to claim one of my current domains
again, so no matter what, I'm sure I'll be known. *shrug*
And I for one hope for an Eiran tie-in in some way. For the diety I have in mind, it is essential I think. But my preference is to remain on Eiran...
*sorry, breaking my own reason for glaring*

Yeah that could be a challenge. I'm not too skilled at intuitively remembering writing patterns, but others might be able to.
I guess the bright side would be that it would force you to create a character with more depth, or at least one with speech more alien to how you normally speak.

The thought of playing entirely IC is very exciting. The problem is that I need a WHOLE FREAKIN' LOT more activity than that would provide. Txting as much as I do with those who will respond is all that gets me from turn to turn.
And I'm sure many of us would figure out who many others are. But I really don't think that's a problem. If we ONLY communicated IC, we would only have that and known actions on which to base our decisions about how to deal with each other.
