In some respects I enjoyed this as much as UP!-technical prowess and love of product goes to UP! (It was worth the two free tickets and 6 bucks-it was quite enjoyable, and, no, I haven't seen the first two...a little pissed that the <promised per ad> 3D glasses weren't available, grrr... )

Did you watch UP! with 3D glasses? Wasn't bad, but my glasses had some annoying smudges that didn't come off easily...danlo wrote:In some respects I enjoyed this as much as UP-technical prowess and love of product goes to UP! No I didn't. That's why I was so looking forward to this. I've never seen a movie in 3D. Just looked up the voices and even though I said to Tam Ellie wasn't Queen Latifa-dammed if it wasn't. Sorta guessed that Diego was Dennis Leary but Simon Pegg's Buck was great. Actually Buck made the movie-but they, probably went too overboard with the character.
The kids loved it, so...

Unfortunately for me, the only 2 movies I've seen in 3-D were Jaws III and whatever the hell the third Jason movie was called....oh yeah, Friday the 13th III. Big freaking whoop. Oh, I did see Captain Eo at Epcot; that one at least didn't suck! Of course, aTOMiC might see this post and remind me of another 3-D movie we saw as kids that I forgot about, but I'm pretty sure those were it.danlo wrote:I've never seen a movie in 3D.

I saw Monsters vs Aliens in 3D. The technology was impressive. It was crystal clear with no distortion. The polarized lenses are much better than the old technology which used different colored lenses. The only tradeoff is a slightly darker picture. But the 3D effect is entirely convincing and used well. It didn't feel gimmicky.
