I like it.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

If you're also a fan of top chef, why not mix them both.

Some undead thread titles too....finn wrote:I've just finished the first season of True Blood with Anna Paquin (Rogue from X-Men), not sure if this is the thread or not as I also went through the first (and only) series of Moonlight recently..... I'm sort of on a Vampire kick at the moment.
I really enjoyed Moonlight and it seems that they dumped it a bit too quickly as there was (and is) a growing fan base for Mick the Vamp.
True Blood tho' is an off beat affair with everything from slapstick to horror to soft porn. The writing is excellent in parts but shocking in others with some of the stupidity of the characters actions reminiscent of Jack Baurs daughter in the first couple of 24s! The soundtrack is good even if you aren't right into country and it gets the full HBO treatment, which is by and large prety good (IMO).
I had to keep watching it tho'; there is something compelling about some of the story lines and you wonder where the macro plot will go beyond outlining a world that has a variety of "complicated" characters.
