Chrys, regarding Elan, I was never involved with AD back when they had their fallout with him, so I don't really know about that side of things. I think he's alright, I don't quite agree with how he runs raids but I would have gladly continued to take Timkins into the ones he led (and Kysen, now, for the few Naxx pieces I still need, since Legacy are concentrating on Ulduar) if he hadn't suddenly and without explanation stopped sending me invites. Since he did, however, suddenly stop communicating with me, I'm happy to just forget about him.

I am sorry, though, that the way things went has meant I rarely get the chance to run anything with yourself now.

Luci - I think the number of times you said "freakin" and the scare quotes around "congratulate" quite rightly made that post seem a little aggressive from Chrys' perspective.

I got a form letter saying they'd look into the DK issue. I think I should get an achievement for actually breaking a character.

Anyway, I moved Sorus to Legacy last night. I had a lot of reasons to, and no reasons not to. I'm leaving my DKs and my rogue in the Watch.

So, it turns out that the DK silence/pacify is only in starter zones, which I found out with no help from Blizz. I went to Booty Bay to try to get a hearthstone from a neutral inn, and my spells started working out there. :?

So I have a scourge DK.

She's mainly a RP character, so I'm really not sure why I made her horde on a RP server that doesn't have much RP... but it could be fun. :P

I decided to take a good long look at the gear available to me now and potentially from Ulduar 10, and see what the ideal set I'd aim for would be. Discounting hard modes, and with a couple either-or choices (weapon, 2nd ring), this is what I have:

www.chardev.org/?template=228922

Odd thing is, I already have a few pieces I probably won't replace in 10 man Ulduar. I'm also disappointed by how low my health will be in full 213-219 gear, only 31k unbuffed (under 38k raid buffed, which looks very low for the gear I should have after Ulduar).

If we grind heroics, can't we get 239+ gear after the patch? Even though the Ulduar sets aren't perfect it is kinda frustrating that we will never really get all that gear; so much of it might be bypassed straight to tier9-ish stuff.

226 for Conquest badge loot and 25 man kills. If we manage to get any hardmodes down (I don't see us managing it while Ulduar is relevant content) we might see 232 gear (on 10-man - the hard mode gear is actually better than the normal 25 man gear).

I gemmed wrong in the set I linked, and if I throw in FL 25 loot I can get past 32k. It still doesn't seem right that there are naxx 25 tanks with 35k hp (end game Ulduar they're pushing 40k), but Ulduar 10 tanks who might not get close.

Sorus - Just saw your OS 25 on the calendar. I'm wondering if there's any chance at all of trying +1 Drake. It's easier on 25 than 10. Thing is, if there's any chance of doing +1, I'll take Kysen for the amazing chest piece that could drop. Otherwise, Timkins needs gear more. Though I won't lose you a tank if you need me anyway.
What do you think? (My +1 kill was one of Elan's PuGs, and was three-shot. All depends on having high dps, really.)

I was actually thinking last week that we should have tried +1 with the group we had. If we can get a decent number in-guild and pugs who are at least aware that standing in lava is bad, I would absolutely be willing to give it a try. I would also like to get the 'under 21' achievement, though that can wait until next week. I'm thinking for that one we could probably do it with 17-18 and keep it all in-guild, as long as we can get enough healers.

I think I signed up for today's Naxx run (tuesday 5:30pm)... I am running a bit late at work, so I likely won't be home until 6/6:15... Feel free to replace me, or I can sub in later.

I don't really need the run, but am happy to help. Hopefully someone sees this in the next 15 minutes.

Let me guess. Your bow did not drop.

I have killed Instructor Razuvious ten times now on my hunter. The bow is supposed to have an 18% drop rate.

Kel'Thuzad eight times. 19% drop rate.

Neither item has ever dropped for me. I haven't lost rolls, they have never dropped.

Blizz hates me.

Minion Bracers are a trash drop. Never seen them. Seen wand, dagger, spell neck, bow multiple times.

Took a few random screenshots in Ulduar this week. They didn't come out so well, but I'll share em anyway.

The Antechamber

Entering the Observation Ring:
Us.
The shattered prison, plus boss.
And another.

Preparing for (recovering from) Hodir

On Hodir: I might look like our dps was low on the fight and we weren't getting very far. But the thing is, once we all adjust to the mechanics, those buffs will start coming into play, and dps will probably see a sudden jump. He's tuned around players doing huge damage. I'm not sure how much difference the frost resist will make, generally the dps should not need it.
I'd suggest a policy of not healing players who get ice blocked in future attempts, this frees up the healers to raid heal through the AoE rather than fight against an exponentially-stacking frost damage debuff on one player.

Nice screenshots!

Re Hodir - it's a busy fight. I think we were all starting to get it on the last couple of attempts. I know in the beginning I was paying more attention to the things I shouldn't stand in than the things I needed to be standing in. :P

We weren't standing in the buff zones enough of the time, and we weren't doing a good enough job of freeing the NPCs. I will also say that watching the video (twice!) before the fight was far less helpful than actually being there.

We'll get him next week.

I've been sat staring at character creation for 20 minutes trying to name a priest. Going with female human because I still can't stand to look at the male human toons all the time.
Arg.

Edit: And the first two names I do decide on are taken. Arg.
