AussieCon4 (Worldcon 2010)

Post by Seareach »

Thanks to Duchess (I think it was Duchess?) on Facebook I've just found out that WorldCon 2010 is being held in Melbourne Australia.

Wacko! I'm so excited that I'm...really REALLY excited! ;)

If ever there were a reason that the Australian KWers should get together it's this (and it's not so far away that certain NZers should come too!).

Anyhowwwww, it's not until September next year. Ya all have plenty of time to think about but, well... Come hang out with me, coz I'm going (it's just a hop, skip and a jump from where I live--well, 2 hours away but hey!).

Cool!!! Who else can we rope in?!

And, everyone else from all over the planet, this would be a good excuse to come see our lovely country! Go on, ya know you want to!

Wow, september 2010 is sooo far away, and I can barely organise what I'll be doing next week!

But having said that, I would love to come.

I know. It *is* a long way away but I like to organize my life well in advance (although it never goes to plan and most of the time all my plans go to sh*t...but hey...).

Are you in Oz, Earthfriend. Have I asked you this before? I probably have!

Oooh, that's only a hop, skip and (short) plane trip from me! Could be good.

Earthfriend is not far away either!

it'll be practically on my door-step ... still, like Earthfriend said, Sept 2010 seems a long way away to me at the moment, who knows where I'll be in 13 months time ? :?:

Round trip flight + hotel for a week runs about $3K for starters.

Might be fun ;)

Melbourne's about 2 hours drive for me, Seareach, so not too far, all told. But I must admit, I only go in once or twice a year. (For Arcanacon and to visit Minotaur, mostly.)

I wonder if there will be any cricket being played anywhere in Sept. next year, StevieG? A few cold bevies and a large screen tele come to mind...
