So who's Ken Austin (Ardenol)?

Post by Illearth »

Kenaustin Ardenol always struck me as being constructed from a real person's name, presumably a friend of SRD. There are a few others like that, none of which are coming to mind at the moment.

No relation to Steve, quick moves and great strength notwithstanding. :)

I think you might be on to something there, Savor Dam. Bionics would be the only way a mere human could beat a Haruchai, after all...
Stone and Sea are deep in life,
two unalterable symbols of the world;
permanence at rest, and permanence in motion;
participants in the Power that remains.

Naah. Perhaps in the next book or so, a Haruchette will show up and kick the boys' tushies.

In the Gradual Interview was wrote:Lynne (aliantha): ... I'm re-reading TCTC (again) in preparation for the release of "Runes" in the fall, to refresh my memory (well, that's my cover story; I'm actually looking for all the doors you left open for the Last Chrons). My question regards the name ak-Haru Kenaustin Ardenol: Who's Ken Austin?
  • Ken Austin is actually the younger (although much better looking) brother of the far more famous Tex Austin.

I like BillyBob...but Ardenol sounds like the successor to Sominex(TM). Maybe it's only marketed in Texas? "Hey, BillyBob! Ye rllokin' mighty spry!" "It's thet thar Ardenol I been takin'. Makes me pert as a cut-tail skink."
