Heh. I kidna set up the whole High Lord/Lord/Sevant of the Land thing just for fun when we had the EZBoard. And I still think the High Lord rank is kinda cool. Plus I'm lazy. I think most people now use the cool feature of the new board to make their own titles, which is pretty cool, I think. But I'm always up for new ideas.-jay

I think it's time for a change
Some of the stuff (OK, all the stuff) I added ended up being a little more controversial than they probably should have been but I think they ultimately added an element of fun to the place and I think we have a fairly large core of members that regularly contribute and make this place one of their regular daily stops - in a world of over 300 billion web pages, that ain't half bad in my book
I think the ability to customise your identity is great and it probably shouldn't cost anything to do so. The concept of WGD's may very well be a redundant one. What do you guys think?

Apologies, Jay. It was merely an attempt by an ur-vile to infiltrate Revelstone.kevinswatch wrote:Heh. hmmm..Matrix, when I first came here I felt daunted by all the discussions as well. But then, I just jumped right in and offered up my thoughts to the already overflowing intelligence that resides here at the Watch. I was warmly accepted as were my posts. My point is...any and all thoughts and insights are welcomed here as they add to the growing perceptions of the Chrons. Like you, I've been a fan of these books for over 20 years, and I still learn something new from reading them, and now, since I've been coming here, I learn from my fellow Watch brothers and sisters, they have opened my eyes to aspects of the Chrons that I had missed, (much to my disbelief, as I thought I hadn't missed a thing!). Please don't refrain from posting just because you believe that "it's all been said." It hasn't...not by a long thread...and I for one, would love to be enlightened by your perspective on the Chrons.

And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

Ylva, you haven't come remotely near doing anything to be ashamed of. Don't let anybody get you down. The Watch is changing. It's expected, understandable, and irrevocable. Partly because of what MM just said, partly because significant growth in numbers means we get more and more diversity. Even those who can let the old feel of the place rest in peace just don't know what to make of things now, and emotions are running high. Among all the ideas being thrown around, we get some things said perhaps badly, and some things that shouldn't be said at all. It's been going on for months, and will continue for at least months more. Just be your wonderful self in the face of it all. I, of course, avoid acting silly at all costs, but I don't hold it against those who do.

Fist, I think, was born silly. Nothing wrong with being silly. I'm sometimes silly, but only sometimes.

I guess I just wish there could be a bit more serious discussion, as well...which does exist in the group reads in Dissecting the Land and Mordant's Need (though I wish more people would take part in both...especially Mordant...)
You know, silliness makes the place fun. Nothing wrong with silliness and fun at all. I do my share of both...I came here to discuss the work of SRD and being silly. Now I feel a little bit ashamed for that last bit.

I need to reread the Mordant books. I want to get in on those discussions too, Duchy
It's just been so long since I read them and it was only once. I don't really remember them well enough to participate in the Dissection of them. I think, once things calm a bit around here. (which could be years from now..hehe) I'll give them another read.

I did a lot of this "lurking," as you name it, before I began "posting" recently, and I'm not sure silly accurately describes Fist. I think he's a bit too full of himself, possibly bordering on paranoid.Furls Fire wrote:Fist, I think, was born silly. Nothing wrong with being silly.

Please do stay in character, I love it. In the vastness of the plains, how could such a small thing as paranoia even be noticed?Plains of Ra wrote:I'm not sure silly accurately describes Fist. I think he's a bit too full of himself, possibly bordering on paranoid.

Oh, I assure you, I am quite familiar with Despite in all its forms. When I reduce myself to the level of short-livers, in order to communicate in this fashion, I can see such things in individuals.Joy wrote:In the vastness of the plains, how could such a small thing as paranoia even be noticed?
