Oh, I'm disappointed Hyperception didn't win. I still really like the way his sonnet evokes emotion.

...and the wgds would have been really nice...

But, my good sportsmanship has already been compensated.

Well, I have another 500, so here goes.

This Week's Contest

This week, I want to see if we can successfully have a contest which involves posting correct answers. I guess the only way to do this, without making it a race to post the answers first, is to PM the answers to the host. So this is an experiment to see how well this works.

In this week's contest, you need to complete some Chronicles quotes.

Below are several incomplete quotes. They are incomplete because only the first two letters of each word is included. Complete as many as you can.

PM you're answers to me, Wayfriend. Then write a reply here, saying you've submitted your answer, how you think you did, etc., so that people can see who's playing and how they are doing. But please don't post your answers.

Whomever gets the most correct wins 500 WGD. In the case of a tie, I guess there will be a tiebreaker round or something.

Answers submitted. There were four I could not complete and perhaps two where I am not completely confident of the responses, since I could not remember the exact quote and had to work from best memory.

If inspiration strikes and the remaining ones should occur to me, are follow-up submissions allowed?
(obviously with the understanding that the time of that submission would then be used if needed as a tiebreaker criteria...)

Answers submitted. I'm fairly sure I got seven exactly correct. One I totally drew a blank on. I generally recognized the rest, but couldn't recall the exact words. I haven't touched the books in a long time, so this was really tough for me.

I've gotten several submissions now. (dlbpharmd has submitted one, although he has not mentioned it yet.)

Let me say that, although the entries are very competitive, there's still plenty of room at the top.

By design, you can't find these quotes by searching the texts. So I'm not sure that having books helps. Anyone care to comment?

Auleliel, how could you be so encouraging to Menolly and then not give it a try yourself? Are those laurels comfortable to rest upon?

Beyond what I'd submitted earlier in the week, I have one more solved...and a few careless typos corrected. Still looking to solve remaining ones.

Not to appear to be a rules lawyer (really, that's not me!), but can you be more specific about the deadline time on Friday?
